Hi everyone we have 16 teenagers going to DLR together next week. They are a dance team. I have put together two scavenger hunts. They are meant to be done over a 24 hour period of time. The girls will be in groups of thier chosing. The purpose is to have something to do when waiting around and also to build team work.
Example: one hunt will start at lunch on Tuesday and finish on Wed. The other hunt will start on Wed and on Fri because they are in class half of Thursday.
Here are my questions:
1) are they too long?
2) If they are too long how many items would you illiminate
3) which should I do first?
4) Or should I do them both together and just give them until Thursday night for both
5) do I need to assign point values?
6) Other suggestions?

(where you see the pound sign is where there is a check box in real life)

Could you give us some examples of the types of questions you're looking for?

One suggestion: Find the one four-leaf clover in Flik's Fun Fair.

Thanks
two kinds of questions:

1) things they can take photos of or with that are unique to DCA. The restrictions are: there most not be a charge, they can not be at someone else's expense such as the worst outfit you ever saw. Here is what I have already:

2) the second part is questions- these are 12-16 year olds. We found so we have to skip the really inappropriate ones my DD found on snoopes. Here is what we have so far:

thanks for the help

I added a few items.

DCA is tricky because of all the work going on over there.

Take a picture from the Fun Wheel.

Take a picture of the place where The Little Mermaid ride will be. (Probably a picture of construction wall)

Find Heimlich.

Find Beaker.

You could look up a menu item on allears and ask them to find what place it came from.

If you had a map handy before you go, you could take some questions off of that.

I would group them together on the list according to which land they are in. If it were me, I would be so frustrated to ride a ride in Fantasyland and then realize later that I was supposed to find something there and couldn't ride it again due to the length of the line.

If you do assign point value that might be an incentive to do some of the more difficult ones. We were there a couple of weeks ago and it was really crowded. Never saw Maynard either!

I would not group them by land, that will make it easier and after all they should hunt.

I would do points 1,2 or 3, Maynard would be worth more because he isn't there everyday. A pic with the partners statue is easy so only 1 point.

I have no idea where to find Maynard. I thought I was just a name someone came up with. LOL

I'd also make it 2 points if it requires going on a ride since that takes more time.

If there are options, such as names on Storyland Canal boats, You may go 1 name 1 point, 3 names 2 points, and and 6 names 3 points.

I'd also try to push up the tasks that are in DCA, are you spending a full day in each park?

Also add one from a parade in each park.

I don't think grouping them by land would make them too easy. Some of those are pretty difficult unless you've been to DL a bunch of times. (But maybe these kids have, and if so, then I wouldn't group them necessarily).

The only one i think you should take off is maybe the Barbosa one, there is a pic of him on the wall inline for POTC but you might end up with lots of people taking pictures during the ride:snooty:

The question:
What does Indy say at the end of the ride?

He says a couple different things, each time can be different.

Thanks for all the input.

Does anyone have input on how long each days list should be? There is not a specific hunt time, this is so they can do this while they are doing other stuff.

We will have park hop and not do one day in one park and one day in another. Day 1 we have from noon to midnight, Day 2 we all day and night, Day 3 some will do MM and others will not go to the park until evening. They have class from 12-4. Day 4 they have class from 11-4 and then they have to catch a flight home so that day will be very limited and I am not really counting it.

thanks again.
Jean

Well, you could hand them the whole list and them work on it the entire time. Give a deadline when it is due. Is there a prize?

So far no prize but I will find something goofy to give them. Maybe a trinket for everyone who participated and something bigger for the winning team. I am not sure what the coach has in mind. He is so busy I will probably not get to talk to him about any of this until we are in line for a ride. I have put the trip together for him so I am punting a little.

I really appreciate the help.

Jean

Were does he usually work?
thanks

I wouldn't write down where to find him, because he has worked there a long time and may be on a number of attractions. But if you were to ask any CM where Manard is they would know who he is and about where he could be found.
