Last year we stayed at the Wndham Palms and really enjoyed it.Their prices are still up there for out upcoming trip in April. We are looking for a place that has alot to do since we won't be doing the parks this trip. Our kids are 7,8, 12, and 16 and would love a cool pool, mini golf ,etc. What do you recommend? TIA:bounce:

We loved OLCC! Awesome pool. Going back there (on Skyauction) as well as trying out Sheraton this next trip. There are 6 of us, also!

For a resort with a cool pool and mini golf, I'd second the recommendations for Orange Lake County Club and for Sheraton Vistana Resort (not Villages - smaller w/o mini-golf). Both are large Gold Crown resorts with tons of activities for all ages - easy to fill a week! Plenty of people return to them yearly and minimally visit the parks. OLCC has onsite regular golf and watersports too. Enjoy! :)

I have stayed at the Sheraton Vistana Resort in a 2 bedroom villa - it sleeps 8.....2 in the master bedroom (king bed), 4 in the 2nd bedroom (2 doubles) and 2 on the sofa sleeper in the living room. There is a full kitchen, dining room, washer and dryer facilities, and whirlpool tub in master bedroom. There is plenty of things to do around the grounds---7 pools, miniture golf, play areas, and when I was there on Wednesday (I think) they had something set up at the store with a moon-bounce, funnell cake, hot dogs/hamburgers, face painting, raffles, and other things for kids to do.

They have tons of scheduled activities every day too (for adults and kids). I believe they have 3 restaurants on site too.

I would highly recommend staying here. Hope this helps!

I would highly recommend Vistana Resort. Many, many activities are schedule for day and night. There are 7 pools and several rec centers and excercise rooms. Bike rentals are available, and so is mini golf. They have a family cook out and there are 2 restaurants and a Pizza Hut Express on the property along with 2 pool bars. The villas sleep 8 (most of them). The master bedroom is huge with a king size bed and jacuzzi. All units have a washer and dryer and the balcony is screened in and makes for a nice place for breakfast or for a relaxing cup of coffee/tea.

We have owned there since 1986 and have never been disappointed.

I have stayed at a few of these. I liked the Hilton Grand Vacation Club the best. beautiful place. The Vistana Resort was nice as well but we were in the newer area. Some of the units were old. I give Orange lake only a fair review. It wasn't very clean, it was too big, and out of the way. We won't be going back to Orange Lake. I have two more resorts we'll be trying out in a few weeks.

check

www.skyauction.com (over on the side pick Florida and then hotels only)

you bid on the property that you like - only bid on the ones that are for 7 days - and read the ad carefully - lately there have been developers using it - they add extra charges - the only ones you want to bid will include $195 and $15 fee - that is it - if they say a $32 per night or $195 per person - don't bid

Westgate lately has put some out there - that I don't understand why people are bidding....

or if you don't like the bidding war

they get more of a selection at 45 to 60 days before you leave - sometime the prices go down - but not always

on for you folks who like Orange Lake - start reading the 2-bedroom and 1-bedroom again - for some reason occassionally one of the resort will be Orange Lake - you would think that RCI had learned that putting Orange Lake by itself they will get more money for it - but be glad that they learned that lesson yet....

Sheraton's Vistana Resort...tons to do...lots of pools, tennis courts, mini golf, and nearly anything you can imagine...we've stayed in 2 bedroom units each time and they're all wonderful...including the older ones...they really aren't run down like some people say they are...my grandparents are extremely picky about accomodations and they LOVED the vistana...
