if all we got were pics from V&A and Bistro de Paris....BORING! and not to mention short.
Alot of folks have a burger or pancakes from the food court and then post it here. This is a thread for "food reviews" not "food pick and choose what you show".

lighten up this is a Food Porn Thread, not just "sexy food porn" its the good the bad and yes sometimes the ugly! The fact that we seen the half eaten wedding cake and she told us about the awesome memory that went with it, I think thats great, that makes the reviews real and personal.

I love the reviews and the ALL the pictures that go with them. just like any other post if it dosent intrest me I dont read it (or look at it in this case)

As far as the burgers and fries pics and the Dole Whips pics, don't forget that there are new people joining the boards every day who have never heard of, never mine seen a Dole Whip. I'll admit I still haven't tried one, but after joining the boards, it took me a while to even know what people were talking about. Sure am glad for those pics.

And the burger & fries pics, etc....well, not all burgers are the same and a newbie might appreciate seeing different burgers from different places so they'll know which one appeals to them more.

A picture of a steak cut neatly in half, with half already eaten is fine, so long as it's really been consumed -- not half eaten with pieces of fat and gristle hanging about.

But, that's not what the OP was talking about, nor is it what I was talking about. What I don't like is where someone eats half of everything on their plate. It's now a gloppy mess. Then says, "Yikes, I forgot to take a picture -- but here's what was left and it was good." Good grief, I say. Spare us.

Also, regardless of the fact that many people seem to like to see what a hot dog at Casey's looks like, I can pretty well picture it without seeing it. After all, to paraphrase Freud, "Sometimes a hot dog is just a hot dog!"

What the souffle at V&A looks like is interesting to me. But, only if you haven't eaten half of it. If it's just a mucky pudding mess, skip the photo. At that point, I'm not interested. Don't care if it's a V&A souffle or the kid's pudding at a fast food spot.

For those who say it's interesting to see the anatomy of the food as it comes apart layer by layer -- bully for you! I'm not interested in what the human body looks like on the inside either. Human anatomy or food anatomy -- don't wanna see! I guess that's why I didn't go to medical school nor did I go to culinary school. Wasn't interested in the ins and outs of either, so to speak.

Actually, perhaps I have to take that back. Once while at the Chef's Table we watched while Chef Scott Hunnel carved an absolutely gorgeous section of beef into individual filet mignons. Truly, that was art. That was photo worthy!

So, there you have it -- I have a raw meat fetish. Who knew!!??

The half-eaten cake is gross, even if it was your wedding cake! Show us a picture before you dove into it,or don't bother.

Gross, but funny. You know, it was a beautifully wonderful day and moment in the building of my family. Many people, along with myself, have laughed over the pictures of the cake and the story that goes along with it. And you know, I guess I'm probably immature enough to get a kick out of the fact that it has irritated or grossed you out.

I gave my anti-half eaten opinion earlier, but I have to add a few things:

I love the pics of hot dogs, ice cream cones, french fries, as well as the magnificent chefs table pics. I love the cakes with the piece removed so we can see the filling and layers. Or the freshly cut into steak to show us the perfection of cooking.

I really even liked the wedding cake with fork marks...what a wonderful story and reason to share a half-eaten picture. Or Mr Disney's feeding Kevin the applesauce...that's a story, not a gross picture.

It's just the plates with half eaten, bite marked sandwiches or the the single sliver of steak with potatoes smeared all over a juicy plate with a slimy fork in the corner that grosses me out.

Sure it's just a personal preference, but I really can't be the only one who thinks it's yuck. It's not about bashing people who forget to take a picture, it's just a preference. My reaction is "eeeew" then scroll. Maybe people don't want that reaction to their posts? Maybe they don't care and maybe I am a weirdo and everyone else likes half-eaten food..?

I love seeing all the food pictures, would hate to miss out on some good pictures of food just because they forgot to take the picture from the get go! Plus what do you think I will see when I am eatting it? Yup, I'll see it at least half gone

This post (well the food porn thread) is like any other thread on the dis, you will NOT EVER like every single post no matter what the topic is, food or otherwise.
take the good with the bad and move on, or post if you so choose but complaining about a post (or picture) in which someone is doing a food report about there trip, well thats just not nice. They took the time to do it and I think for the most part, mostly everyone enjoys a good food report, you do or you wouldnt be here, right? I for one love the one with pics, ALL of them!
So again scroll down past what you dont want to look at and when you go and you take pictures of your food we will all look forward to a very neat, not eaten, not touched and very pretty food picture!

I look at it like this - the people who are posting here are doing us a favor by feeding our addiction. I thank them all for taking the time to share their experiences with the rest of us because it's certainly not something that anyone has to do.

Oh, and by the way ... I really hate mushrooms so if the rest of you out there could refrain from posting pictures of food with 'shrooms I'd personally be very grateful.

Ooh baby come to mama, I could eat that entire plate...and I dont really love mushrooms but give me Yachtsman mushrooms with a filet and I died and gone to heaven...oh and another weird thing, I love mushrooms on a pizza but they have to be thin sliced and a bit crispy...no slimy mushrooms please.

And that is the only 2 ways I will eat mushrooms..I feel better that I admitted it...now all you Disers know more than you need to know about lil ole me!

... as I just ordered Pizza Hut and would far rather see Disney food than what I am getting! (( I skimmed a few of the pages, so I havent read all fof the posts.)) Another day I might be in another mood - but today I am willing to look at plates filled with nasty, 1/2 eaten, delicious, only loacated at Disney, food! Tomorrow may be a different story, but i am on a BAD Disney Kick and might enjoy it!!?

OK MickeyNicki - you are now about to be introduced to the third way you will love mushrooms. Simply follow the following steps:

For each 1/2 lb. of button (white) mushrooms:

Heat to boiling
1/4 cup of corn oil
2 Tbsp of white vinegar
1 clove of minced garlic
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp sugar
2 whole pepper corns
1 bay leaf

Brush mushrooms off with damp paper towel, trim off bottoms of stems (if large mushrooms cut into halves, thirds or quarters). Add to mixture and boil slowly for 7 minutes. Remove from heat and allow to cool.

These make great hors d'oeuvres, additions to anti pasto or mixed with diced tomatoes and served as a salad on bibb lettuce.

I agree with just about everyone else! If you don't care for the pics then don't look at them. I am also grateful to anyone who takes the time to capture the pics for us....I have done and know how hard it is to remember. when that food is placed in front of you all you want to do is dig in....a half a pic is better then none!

P.S. I'll take mushrooms any way I can get them....even right out of the can!!!
