Please keep Sylvia's stepdad in your good thoughts and prayers..

Earlier today, I had called Sylvia's mom, Margarete, as I had last year and this on Sylvia's birthday (January) and now (anniversary of her death). I spoke with her and her husband, Sylvia's stepdad, Larry. (I added an update on my thread about Sylvia).

Larry passed on to me that he was going in for colorectal surgery for cancer this Friday. The surgery will necessitate a colostomy, and certainly, and naturally, Larry is a bit down, I could hear it in his voice. But he is also upbeat, in the fact that the cancer seems to be in an early stage, and the prospects of follow-up chemo and/or radiation do not seem to look like either will be necessary, a good thing for sure.

I mentioned to him, and Margarete too, that I would ask for the many folks here on the DIS, this little place on the Net that was so comforting to Sylvia for so many months, to remember him in their good wishes and thoughts, and if we do them, our prayers also.

They do have a computer now, for several months, and I told them I would email the memorial thread on which so many people said so many nice things about Sylvia. Hopefully they will stop by for a look-see.

Larry, my very best for you this Friday and going forward, my prayers are with you.
