Please help with 1 day trip!

Me, my mother, and my 2 daughters are traveling to Europe this fall. We will be in Paris for 5 days and want to spend 1 of those in DLP. We would love to spend more time. We are frequent visitors to WDW for 2 weeks at a time, but since this is our first trip to Paris there are many other things we want to see.
I am having a difficult time navigating the tickets and transportation to DLP. We will be staying in an apartment near Notre Dame the second week of October. Will this be an easy trip to DLP and what should it cost? Should I try to buy a package from DLP which includes transportation to and from the park? The cost seems rather high at 30 euros per person added to the park ticket but I just don't know.
Also, if I do consider a 2 day ticket, it costs more than twice the price of a 1 day. I can't help but think I'm looking at something wrong!
I am thinking what we want is a 1 day hopper but is this actually "doable"? Like I mentioned before, we are frequent WDW visitors so we want to mainly see the differences at DLP but this may be MY only trip to Paris so I don't want to miss anything if I can help it!

we travelled from St. Michel Notre Dame via Chatelet les Halles back to dlp, it was very easy, took about 45 minutes.

Not much help with tickets i'm afraid, as i've always booked a package, had a quick look on the dlp website and cheapest hopper tickets are just over £50 each adult just under £50 for children. 2nd week of october should be reasonably quiet except the weekend, although you get longer park hours on saturday and sunday which could help to get everything done in a day.

There are websites that often sell discounted park tickets, someone else may have experience of these.

Any concierge in any Paris hotel will be able
to advise you on public transport from where you are to the park. Essentially, avoid the overpriced shuttles and use the RER (line A, usually shown as a red line on the Paris transport maps) which goes from various stops around the centre to Marne-la-Vallée Chessy (DLP, last stop on the line) for about 7 Euros one way per person. Takes about 35-40 minutes and the last train usually leaves back for Paris around midnight so it gives you plenty of time to stay until the park closes.
