We will have 1 day in late August for SW. The kids are 10, 12 16 and 19. Can you advise me on what are the not to be missed attractions??? We won't have a car so plan on arriving at opening and staying as late as possible. With the heat, though, we may be spent by mid afternoon:scared: Are there places to get out of the heat and take a break? Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Seaworld is great for hot days because all of the shows are either covered or indoors. For the ages of your kids, they would probably really like Fusion. It combines high energy music, dancing, ski boats, jet skis, huge kites. It's a lot of fun. There really aren't very many rides at SW. Just Kraken, which is one of my favorite rollercoasters, Journey to Atlantis, which is cook, and wild arctic. Other than those few rides, it is basically all shows and animals. The nighttime show is pretty good also.

Have fun!

My teen sons (14 & 16) seem to always enjoy riding Kraken, Journey to Atlantis, and Wild Arctic. We pack swimsuits and everyone changes, then we sit in the front row and get soaked at the Shamu shows. That really cools us off! Also, the Hospitality Center has lots of seating and good food if you want to cool off there. There are misting stations throughout the park where you can get cooled off. The penguin and shark exhibits have indoor viewing areas where you can sit on the floor and relax a bit if need be.

If you arrive at opening and stay till closing, you dont have to miss anything. Do Kraken first thing, as queues tend to build up. We prefer to aim to do as many of the shows as possible in the morning, as they are busier in the afternoon so you need to arrive earlier for seats, and water shows can be cancelled due to electrical activity.

My afternoon recommendations are: Wild arctic (indoors, long, sit down ride, and cold (dont go immediately after a shamu show finishes)); Lunch (go late to avoid queues and eat during the warmest part of the day); Shark Encounter (long and dark) and Penguin Encounter (same reason). For shows, Pets Ahoy and the one with the acrobats are completely indoors with air conditioning, and wont be called off for weather.

We went to Sea World a few weeks ago, and it was miserably hot. I didn't find it to be a good hot weather park at all. We were there at opening, and my daughters rode Kracken twice, Journey to Atlantis once, we saw Blue Horizons and Believe, ate lunch at the "healthy options" restaurant, looked at the dolphin nursery, and fed the dolphins some fish. By 2:30pm we were all exhausted, so we went back to our hotel (Renaissance across the street) and had a long nap and ordered room service.

I love Sea World, but from now on it will be a cooler weather option for us. Even though we sat down and were covered for the shows, we weren't really any cooler, because after all you are sitting on a big metal-covered set of bleachers in the Florida summer heat heat and humidity. We disn't choose any splash zone seating because we didn't want to walk around with wet clothes and shoes.

Have a great time, and if yours can go all day that will be great!!!! But you might have to slow down a bit or leave earlier than you have planned.

We went to Seaworld for the first time in the summer a few years back and the heat was unbearable. I agree with taking it slow. We promised never to go in the summer again. Going this year in December, hoping to really get to know the park. My older children loved the shows. I hear Kracken and Journey to Atlantis pretty good. We didn't get to see much of the park because we left because of the heat was so bad. If you are going to be there all day I suggest taking a break and eating at one of the restuarants in the park. My kids also liked the Pets Ahoy show. They were 20 and 21 at the time ( my son didn't go ).

the three rides, Kraken (rollercoater) Journey To altanis (water coaster), and Wild Artic (simulater).

clyde and seamore is a must, (hilarous)

fusion (hign enegry)

Blue horizons (dolphins)

Believe (shamu)

the new night shamu show something about rocks (high energy)

feeding the dolphins always fun

We just got back from Orlando last week. Sea World, BG, US/IOA were our stops. We all loved Sea World (me, wife, and sons 14/11). We all liked Shamu Rocks, Kraken, Atlantis, and Sea Lions Tonite. It's a good park for hot and/or rainy days because most everything is covered or indoors. We wear swim trunks and quick-dry swim shirts when we go to parks with wet rides. They're comfortable, look good, and dry fast. No need to take a change of clothes. Beautifully landscaped with lots of shade. Really, we liked about everything in the park, but the above mentioned were some of the boy's favorites. We'll be back in Oct. Have fun!!!
