PLEASE HELP - Specific Info Needed on CSR!!

DH and I were staying at CBR for 10 nights this coming Sept. but I want to try something different so I kept our 7 nights at CBR (with family) and moved our last three nights to CSR.
I want to stay in whichever area is the least like CBR so I assume that the cabanas section is out - I have read up on casitas and the ranchos so probably one of those would work best - don't get me wrong - I love CBR (my favorite) but I want to try something different.
Which do you think is better (if that is possible) theme-wise and which bldg. should we request for a standard room and one mroe question - which bldg. in closest to the bus stop (more specfically does anyone know which stop is primarily first for pick-up and drop-off?) Thanks so much for any help you can give

We were just there in June and my advice would be to request the Casitas. They are really pretty with fountains and courtyards. They have a kind of elegant feel. The bus stop that is picked up first (but is called "Bus Stop #2) is near Casita's 4 or 5, and these are also near the Quiet Pool. THe buildings are closer together than I had envisioned in my mind, so I don't think it's a big deal whether you are in 4 or 5. Buzz2001 has a great website with exact distances and maps, so you could do a search for his site and get lots of info. He'll probably reply to this thread anyway and he'll be very helpful!!!

One more vote for the Casitas! We stayedd at CSR in the Casitas section during spring break April 2004. I thought the theming of this section was pretty. The fountains are beautiful! The Ranchos section looked more rustic plus the Ranchos would be the longest walk from the food court (Pepper Market).

I have only stayed in the cabanas section, but Rancho 7B is very close to the main pool and to a bus stop. It would probably be about a 5-7 minute walk to the main building. Again, I have not stayed in the Rancho section but have walked through it and the atmosphere was cool if you like the southwest theme. If not, then maybe Casitas would be better. It is a great resort.

There has been construction going on at the convention center which is nearest to the Casitas section. It was kept behind a fence.
Knowing ahead would keep it from bothering me.

Thanks - I read about the construction but it won't bother us ince they are working during the day - I think, from information on found on here and that found on buzz2001 thread, we will request either Casitas 4 or 5 - anyone prefer one to the other???

We like Ranchos Building 7.

It is close to the pool and kind of out of the way.

We don't mind the walk to Pepper Market.

Another vote for Ranchos Bldg. 7B. Nestled in between what I think was bus stops 2 & 3. Nice location and a nice stroll to El Centro.

CSR is a very pretty resort!

I was at CSR in June and I loved Casitas 1, it is centrally located to everything. Our room number was 1120 and it was a great 1st floor corner room with two windows. When you get to learn the coutyards it is so close to everything. Cut through two coutyards and your at the main building and 1st bus stop. If its pouring and you want to get to the main building you can do so without getting wet by walking under the covered courtyards

Im sure you'll love whatever room you choose

We just got back and were in Ranchos 7B. Closest to bus stop 4. Very near a quiet pool. Close walk to the digsite pool. Long walk to El Centro, but we drove there most of the time. Nice walk at night to el centro. Just too hot during the day.
We loved CSR and will be staying again next October.
