So confused for this trip! We are going May 1-8th. Staying at ASMU with our 2 sons, 8 & 10. We have used the Basic dining plan for the past couple of years, and now I'm freaking out to not book it! Here's the thing we Do NOT want to do TS every night again. I've posted before that once you factor in the tips, we shelled out alot of cash this past year. Also our older son was still considered a *child*. We have narrowed down our choices of Table service and I need to figure out how much it will be with taxes/tip. Then figure out if we should add the new quick serve plan. We would then use the CS for breakfast on the days that we schedule out TS's . Make sense?? So we want

Crystal Palace Lunch
Tusker House lunch
Biergarten lunch

3 Table service & QSDP? 7 nights Thanks in advance:laughing:

I was thinking the same thing, I am planning on going in June. If you do try it or someone else does please let us know how it worked. Thanks!

Not sure what to do yet? Can anyone crunch the numbers on the OOP Table service with Tax? How much would the QSDP be for 7 nights? :confused3

QSDP for 7 nights for 3 adults and 1 child is $692.72

Tusker House lunch would be about $71.00 plus tax and tip (so with a 15% tip it's $86.27)
Crystal Palace lunch would be about $75 plus tax and tip (so again with a 15% tip it's $91.13)
Biergarten lunch is the same as Tusker House (so $86.27 with tax and tip).

Your total for the week would be about:
$956.39

Your total cost for doing the DDP would be $916.72 plus the tips for your meals (which based on the above meals would be about $11 - $15 for a 15% tip on a meal x 7 = an additional $77 - $105)

So the DDP total would be between $993.72 and $1021.72

With the QSDP though you each get an additional snack (because it comes with 2 snacks per day) and a refillable mug. So, as long as you truly don't want more table service meals, you still come out ahead doing the QSDP over the DDP (for your choices).

:) I wasn't sure how much the tax was! I think I may just add the QSDP. One snack for breakfast and one for a afternoon treat. Those tips add up real fast, and most of all the TS were too time consuming for my younger child who has mild autism. He's more apt to eat better at lunch time, and of course the Dinner's are where you get the most value on the Basic dining plan. Thank-you for visually helping me out! :rotfl2:

We are thinking of doing essentially the same thing, but are only doing 3 nts, and would do 1 TS. The last trip, I just felt like we ended up planning everything around ADR's that we had made 6 months in advance. With such a short trip, we want to optimize our park time. Still deciding if the QS is even worth it though, the mugs are meaningless to us, and we wouldn't necessarily order dessert at each CS meal either. I figure I still have another 11 months to decide...LOL. Of course if they do any type of free dining for our dates, it's a no-brainer...at that point it doesn't matter if we "optimise the use of our DDp cerdits"

We've decided to do the Quick Service plan and use the $200 gift card for things like Chef Mickey's - our favorite character meal.

Also - look at the menus before you go! www.allearsnet.com has comprehensive menus that are updated all the time. At places like Columbia Harbour House and Cosmic Ray's, you can get meals that I would consider a good dinner - fish & chips, rotisserie chicken & mashed potatoes, etc. It's not all burgers & pizza.

Thanks for the help everyone! We miss out on the $200. Gift card! Why is early May not included in this??? That would be awesome to use towards any TS that we book. Stinks big time:sad2: It will help when people return from using this new plan soon:worship:
