I have been reading my new Passporter Disney Cruise Line edition and I just love it!!! Between my new Passporter and the help I get from all of you here Cruise Line Board I might just be ready by the time we sail in June!!! My latest questions are about the Customs Declaration Form. Do I list each and everything we purchase? It will be my two sons, a friend of theirs and I on the cruise. Yes, you read that correctly just me and three boys!!! I do love a challenge! Do each one of us have to fill out a form or can we combine them if we don't go over the $800 limit? Is this form difficult to fill out? Can you just give it your best guess and forget about it or am I going to be arrested for forgetting to list something?

I'm sorry if these are silly questions!! I just have no idea how all this works since this is our first cruise.

Thanks for your help! :wave2:

I belive the family can fill one form out and the other person will have to fill one out.

I am not sure if this correct, but I have usually lumped them into categories, like toys, clothes and provided a total. If there is big ticket item, like say a ring then you would want to list them out individullay. Again this is what I have done typically in the past both on cruises and returning from trips aboard.

This may help you:

One form per immediate family (parents and kids, husband and wife). The friend will need to complete a separate form if I understand the rules.

We lumped like items....kids t-shirts, rum cakes (which I believe are exempt, but better to be safe and let the examiner cross it off). Since we went over the limit, we listed most things individually to provide the agent with the details to place the higher dutiable items under the blanket exemption.

Also took ALL purchase receipts with me in case i was asked (I was). I believe there was a "break" if a jewelry item was made in Mexico. It probably would be helpful to have that fact noted on the receipt by the merchant, if it is indeed the case.
