...for my husband!

I am new here, and hopefully I'm not being repetitive to other threads. My husband and I will be in WDW for a week in May. Since I can begin to make my PS's soon :Pinkbounc, it occurred to me that I need to figure out where we're eating on our first night.

It does not need to be "romantic" or "adult" but it does need to be someplace that will be fun and get my husband excited for the magic of WDW (he has never been there). What would you recommend? The only stipulation is that is has to be outside of the parks, since we won't be using a day of our PH on our first day there.

Thanks in advance for your recommendations!!

Welcome to the DIS:wave:

We love the Flying Fish at the Boardwalk and then you can stroll the Boardwalk after dinner:D Another great one is California Grill at the Contemporary Resort. Those are just 2 real nice places.

Looking for fun...of course getting in the true Disney spirit, head to Chef Mickeys also in the Contemporary Resort. It is a character dinner and a lot of fun! Also, one of our favorite places is Ohana at the Polynesian Resort, very cool!!

You will get a ton of info here on the boards!!

Have a great time planning :D

'Ohana! 'Ohana! 'Ohana! ::yes:: ::yes:: ::yes::

I have to agree with dvc family and say that is one of the best places to start the magic. As mentioned, it's at the Polynesian resort - and just the atmosphere of that resort alone is magical. It's really reasonable, for Disney standards, and believe me...go hungry!!!! I mean...super hungry!!

We found that it has a lot of charm...can be romantic for the adults, especially if you get a table by the window, but there are cute little contests for the kids and often a strolling ukelele player who also sings.

Now, I may be biased..'Ohana is absolutely my favorite restaurant in all of Disney. We eat there at least a couple of times per trip.

Have fun!:wave2:

How about the Luau at the Poly. The food is OK and not the greatest, but it's passable and the show is a lot of fun. Also, you can explore the Polynessian Resort and maybe watch Wishes or the Electrical Water Pagent from the beach. I have to admit a visit to the Poly is a great way to start a vacation.
