hi all we are going down to disney late november. we will be there for 10 days. it will be me, husband and 2 sons. ages 7 and 2 1/2. i need help with restaurants please! i love characater dining and "fun" places. my husband on the other hand likes "good" food :) so i need some suggestions please!

i know i want to do the cinderalla royal table (just for the experience of it)
i also know i want to do the crystal palace (who doesn't love pooh and crew)

but i would love love some other suggestons for either places that have really good food and also places my 2 boys would love! :) thanks a million for any ideas :)

We love Crystal Palace, though I've only been for breakfast. I think that's a great choice. The Plaza is also a nice place to eat in the MK.

With young boys, you might consider 50s Prime Time Cafe at DHS. We really like the food, and the setting is fun.

At Epcot, Chefs de France is awesome, and the Rose and Crown is pretty good, too. I think you'd be fine with kids at either. Teppan Edo at Japan is a lot of fun for kids (watching the hibachi chefs) and the kids meals are served in dishes that look like monorail cars. We've really liked the food there the past two trips.

Depending on where you're staying, there are some great resort options: Chef Mickey's at CR, Kona Cafe (breakfast) at the Polynesian, Cape May at the BC, or Boma at the AKL (followed by animal viewing). Whispering Canyon Cafe at WL is fun, but the food has been hit or miss for us. If you are interested, you might also check into the Hoop Dee Doo and the Barbeque at Fort Wilderness. Both would be good for boys.

We really like 'Ohana at the Poly for dinner. There's a lot of great food and fun activities for the kids.

Lunch at Sci-Fi Dine in is good too. It's not gourmet by any means but if you like burgers and fries I would consider it.

Coral Reef at Epcot has great food (a wonderful steak) and you're seated tri-level with all seats having a view of the aquarium glass wall. The kids should love it. They'll get to watch the marine life swim past throughout the meal (think sharks). The steak is one of my DH's favorites at WDW.

50's Prime Time is a cute theme with seating in a 50's style kitchen area and wait staff calling themselves grandmothers, aunts or uncles. They fuss if you put your elbows on the tables and threaten you with no dessert if you don't finish your veggies. I once came back from the restroom to find that while everyone else had dessert, I had my unfinished green beans returned to me with whipped cream and sprinkles. (They did bring me my dessert later, but my kids got a kick out of the green bean "dessert"). For a 10-day trip, the menu of fried chicken, pot roast or meatloaf is also usually a welcome change for us from all the steak and seafood of most of our WDW meals.

I always try to let each family member going pick one or two of the restaurants (look at all the menus on allears). That way, everyone feels like they've had some input. In your case, I would probably let the 7-year old pick 4 (2 for himself and 2 for his brother with your help), DH pick 3 and you pick 3.

Hope you have a great trip and try to stress over the restaurants too much.

OP, have you made any decisions yet? I would love to hear them.

If you're looking for good food and a fun atmosphere, go to Biergarten. It's got really nice food and great entertainment. Someone mentioned Boma earlier and that's a great choice too. They are both buffets, though, and I'm not sure how you feel about that.

If your DH is looking for good food, I would resist the urge of going to the Sci Fi Dine-In. I think it was the worst meal I have ever eaten in my life. I actually felt sick afterward.

If you're looking for a QS that has great food, try Sunshine Seasons inside the Land at Epcot.
