DS5 and I are taking our first trip to Orlando soon, we are staying onsite in POFQ. I have a free day- Nov 4th and I have no idea what to plan for it.
We have two days planned for Epcot, two and a half days for Magic Kingdom (incl MNSSHP), a day and a half for Animal Kingdom, two days for Hollywood Studios and a day for DTD.
I just cannot decide what to do for our empty day which is the day before we go home.
What would you recommend- Kennedy Space Centre/ Seaworld/ anything else??

You've got lots of things planned, I'd take that day and stay around the resort and relax, swim, play mini golf etc., could do the Characters in flight at DTD. Actually I'd plan that day in the middle of the week just for a break but maybe you've got dining plans or whatever.
I guess if you want to go somewhere else then maybe SeaWorld. Along with the shows there's a nice play area : Shamu's Happy Harbour for younger kids with mild rides and play area.
Or you could go to one of the Disney waterparks for the day, Typhoon Lagoon or Blizzard Beach. The SeaWorld waterpark, Aquatica, I've been told is more of a waterpark for younger kids rather than teens. Won't know till we go in Oct/Nov. :)

I'm with sympatico, I wouldn't plan anything in advance. Just take it as it comes.

Kennedy is a nice trip if you've never done it before, plus you can stop by the beach. If your son is into space, this is as close as he'll get without actually going to space camp, or becoming an astronaut. Plus you get to walk through a replica shuttle which is pretty cool, and your kid will probably think it's a real shuttle for years to come. Shamu is an awesome experience, and Universal is okay but I think for an older crowd. For young kids and wow factor Disney, SeaWorld, Kennedy will give you the most memorable bang for buck, and 1 day at each attraction is usually enough for them because they're on excitement overload. Plus, then you get to take it easy and relax a bit.

Honestly 2 days in any park is a bit much unless you reeeeeeeally like that park. You might consider a little time relaxing, or even taking a trip to another Orlando area attraction, but then you need to consider transportation. You may also consider doing each park, then going again to the park you really enjoyed.

You'll be there in a less crowded time frame, and since your DS5 may not be able to get on all rides (meaning big scary thrill rides), you'll be breezing through the parks and will be able to take your time at a calm pace.

Love Sea World, a good place to go for a day.
Celebration, Fl is a nice place to relax for awhile, maybe for a meal. Nice downtown shopping, walking area on lakefront. Pull up a rocking chair on the waterfront and relax a bit. It is just outside of WDW property if you have a car.
Downtown Disney kills a few hours or just resort hopping at WDW either in your own car or Disney transportation is fun to relax a few hours too.
If you are a shopper, there are a lot of outlet malls in the Orlando area.
A beach at either coast is just over an hour away.
Down time at your resort, seems like there is never enough time there.
I agree with others that I would make a list of options and then just see what you have time for or feel like doing at the time. You may want to just soak your tootsies in a pool!
