My son is graduating high school this year. He want to go to Disney for his graduation trip. We were going to do a gulf beach/Disney split stay, but he decided he wants to do all 10 nights at Disney. We had already booked rented BLT studio points for the last 5 nights. Now, I have to decide the first 5 nights.

Our party will include 2 families, mine and my brother's. It is DB, DSIL, niece and nephew both age 5. My family is me, DH, DS18, and DD14. I am trying to decide on a 2 bedroom at Old Key West or 2 studios. I asked my brother which he prefers and he said he didn't care and to ask DS. I asked DS and he said he doesn't care either, for me to decide. The 2 bedroom will be $2496 and the 2 studios will cost me $1800. There are pros and cons for each scenario, so I'm having a hard time deciding.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Or, if there are other options/suggestions, I am open!

Thanks so much! :)

Generally, I would prefer all being together, but I know my SIL would prefer more privacy. We come from a big family and my SIL is an only child. However, I will say that the extra $700 in my pocket would be fun to spend in other ways.

Thanks for your response! I think I'm having such a difficult time deciding because of the extra $$. It's not that we can't afford it, but there are so many things we could do at Disney with the $700! One of the biggest cons for the studios is that once the twins are asleep, it will be difficult to hang out with the family. I assume there are no connecting studios, so that might be an issue.

My vote is for the 2 bedroom, it may be a little bit more but it will be one place for your family to stay, and spend time together before he goes off to school

Yea, age 5 is tough. Can't leave them alone. So the 2 bedroom is ideal for that. If you decide on the 2 studios, set up the balcony as your sitting area for after the kids are asleep. As for first floor and you might have a little more space on a patio than a balcony. And easier to pull extra chairs over from the other room if close by.

Another option is to pick 2 or 3 nights to enjoy out and hire a babysitter. We used Fairy Godmothers, they were terrific.

That is the way I'm leaning. It is a "family" vacation, so it would be nice to be together.

Great ideas! Thanks for the bottom floor and Fair Godmothers tips! I'm usually pretty decisive, but can't get it together on this one!

I'm not sure if they are all like this but when I got a studio at OKW they had two queen beds instead of the little sofa bed that other studio's have so someone is going to be sleeping together. In a 2 bedroom I'm going to assume there is one bed in each room than the sleeper sofa. If that is the case, you might actually be better off with the two studios. OKW has big balconys so everyone can gather there. I'd go with the studio but that's just because I think there can be too much togetherness, especially for 10 days.
