Please Help. Is MGM closing early on 12/9 for Pop Warner kids?

I thought I read somewhere (probably here) that MGM was closing early on 12/9 for a private party for the Pop Warner kids. Is this true? We were planning on seeing the Osbourne lights that night. If this is true, I need to find another time in our itinerary to view the lights. Please help or else it is back to the drawing board.

WDW site shows it closing at 7 on that Friday, and at 8 on every other night that week. So, yes, it will be closing early, most likely for the Pop Warner party.

If its any help we were there last year at MGM the night of the Pop party and we had no problem seeing the Osbourne lights. They turned them on at 6:00.

WDW finally recently admitted that they ARE closing early, after denying it for, oh, the 2-1/2 months I have been calling dining. Fantasmic is at 6:30 pm, closing is at 7 pm. It's really screwed up our FDP.

I've been wondering about this too, since all the schedules I've seen have the closing time listed as 8pm (and still are, last time I checked). Where did you guys see that they were closing early?

I was there one year on the day of their party. There was a sign out front that the lights will close promptly at closing time. The park also got very crowded late afternoon, especially for ToT and RnR, I think they arrived early.

Thanks, I went to the official site just a second ago, don't know why I didn't think of that before posting, lol! Oh well, we'll just have to grin and bear it I guess. Glad I booked that FDP!

Thanks everyone. I guess we will just plan on seeing the lights another night. We are having dinner at Spoodles that night and then planned on taking the boat over to see the lights. If they are going to close early, we will just have to fit them in elsewhere. Thanks again.
