Our Final Day is a Water Park Day with Breakfast at Landscape again as our final QS credit; rest OOP (probably at the WP or the Airport)

Wow, you have really packed alot in there. Is this your first trip?
You might want to drop a few so you'll have more time to enjoy everything and "smell the roses". It looks loke you are trying to do too much.
Of course if you have already been many times and bored, dinig is BIG part of your experience, then you are fine. It just might feel like you are having to get to ADRs, instead of enjoy.
Alos, your daughter might feel too old for the Sandcastle Club. Might be worth giving them a call and finding out the other ages booked for that night. You know her best of course.
I don't do the waterparks, so can't suggest any dining there. Sorry.
Hope you have a great trip.:)

Wowza looks like to much food, when you only jot down the food portion of your itinerary. But eating is part of the Disney experience ... so indulge.

My suggestion is this: When doing CS meals, make sure you're getting bang for your buck when using credits. Some places you can use the credit for a sandwich (which only feeds one person), or you can get a quarter chicken with side (which two or maybe three people). The less CS credits you use for meals like breakfast and lunch - you can bank more for your final day to do a mini feast at a good CS place.

For the last day if you're going to be in and around the MK area for CS I recommend Captain Cooks at the Poly or Gasparilla Grill at GF. Both have a great menu selection.

If really wanting to do a TS OPP - choices are limited as it seems you've exhausted all the good ones already (in my opinion of course).

For good CS meals at MK my favourite is CHH - delicious, large selection and plenty of seating indoors.

Happy eating! :thumbsup2

HOW did you get reservations for BE OUR GUEST???!!! I'm so jelly right now.

They don't have reservations anywhere yet, this trips almost 365 days out........

This is all good information! This is my third resort experience, 1st overall for the rest of my family..The dining is part of the experiece for as going out to eat is a luxury we do not do often in our regular lives..

Like I said this is my first time with dining plan, so I'm expecting a learning curve...

Here are my 7 Table Service Credits
Day 3 - Princess Breakfast
Day 4 - Donalds Safari Breakfast
Day 5 - Be Our Guest - Dinner
Day 6 - Crystal Palace for Breakfast (Character request from DW of Eyorre)
Day 6 - Hoop De Doo Revue (8:30 seating (2 credits)
Day 7 - Ohana Breakfast

QS credits
Day 1 Lunch @ Typhoon Lagoon
Day 2 Breakfast @ HS
Day 3 Lunch @ Epcot
Day 4 Lunch @ Animal Kingdom
Day 5 Breakfast @ A0A (sleep in day)
Day 6 Lunch @ MK
Day 8 Lunch @ Blizzard Beach

OOP
Day 1 Pizza Delvery to Room (Dinner)
Day 3 Tokeyo Dining (Dinner)
Day 2 50 PTC & Sci Fi (Lunch)
Day 4 Fultans Crab House, Planet Hollywood & Sandcastle Club
Day 7 Happily Ever After Dinner (me & DD) Free Time (DW&DS)

I eliminated H&V in favor of some time to go back to the resort in the afternoon that we are in the Studios and catching an impromptu mealk aty some point before heading back to F! to catch a good seat. I realized I also left no room for time at the Big Blue Pool

So Ohana went into the 7th TS spot.

We also have a sleep in day where we can be more casual by the pool before heading out therby elimaning a formal meal there too.

I added a dinner (Happily Ever After) for just me and DD on our 7th day bc I had a 1 on 1 dinner with DW & DS..I may eliminate the Princess Breakfast and put our HS studios lunch in its slot..

so many decisions...good thing I have a lot of time left...lol

I'll be totally honest with you. There is way too much food here. Disney World in July is hot, rainy, muggy, and well, pretty crappy; especially with the hords of people that come in during summer vacation. You may eat 3 balanced meals at home but you will find yourself miserable if you try to eat that much. I live in FL and rarely eat more than two meals and a couple of snacks, that includes breakfast, during the summer because it's just too much otherwise. Now the cooler months are a whole different ball game.

You also have 1st timers going with you. My experience with firsties is that they usually don't want to stop to eat much. Even if they are "starving and will fall apart any minute", heaven help me if I try to get them to sit and eat. :lmao: And that's the grownups! You are also staying at AoA with a really awesome pool and food court. Spend some time there. Let things just kinda work out rather then be tied down to ADRs all day.

Based on your list, you aren't going to get any benefit from having the dining plan. The 2013 prices for dining are available, not from Disney, and you would need have $18 CS meals and $35 TS meals just to break even. Character breakfasts aren't going to be over $30 per/person even in the summer. I spent $30 for CP breakfast in May and that included tip!

You may want to consider getting one adult an annual pass and get a TIW card. The card gives you 20% off most TS and a few CS as well. It does automatically add an 18% gratuity, but that's not really a bad thing unless you normally tip less. You can always tip on top of that 18% too. The break even point on TIW is $375 plus the annual pass upgrade. For a family of 4 at WDW, that's easy to do.

More Good advice....This draft looks less overwhelming...Speading out the snack credits over Days 3-7 will satisfy mid day munchies...so that greatly reduces OOP expenses....

Day 1
CS Lunch @ Typhoon Lagoon
CS Dinner @ Landscape Cafe

Day 2
CS Breakfast @ Starring Rolls (get FP for TSM)
OOP Lunch @ PTC & SFDI
CS Dinner @ Landscape Cafe

Day 3

OOP Dinner @ Tokeyo Dining

Day 4

OOP Dinner @ Downtown Disney

Day 5
CS Breakfast at Landscape Cafe
TS Dinner @ Be Our Guest

Day 6
TS Breakfast @ Crystal Palace
TS Dinner @ Hoop De Doo (8:30PM) - 2 credits

Day 7
TS Breakfast @ Ohana
CS Dinner @ Magic Kingdom

You said in your first post you are staying 7 nights. All DDP plans are based on how many nights you stay, so you have 7, not 8, TS and CS.
The princess breakfast, and dining in the Norwegian castle is really much nicer than any dining at DHS, and a "better value" on the DDP, which means it costs more. It also comes with photos included in the price. It is really very nice. We went for lunch in 2010, and they brought me a birthday card signed by the princesses. All the princesses come and visit your table, and you have time to get a picture with each one, which is also really nice, and sure beats standing in line.

Also, want to add......
Many poeple get sick or something happens, and plans change, so they have unused credits they scramble to try to use at the end of their trip. Even though it is only 7 days, many people have someone in their party who gets an upset stomach, or sunburn, or heat exhaustion, or twisted ankle, or something, that alters plans.

I am in agreement with the previous replies about too much food. We have been to WDW for 12 days per year, the past six years, on the DDP. With all that experience. I cannot imagine two table service meals plus a counter service in one day from the standpoint of time taken away from the parks alone. We have done an early breakfast (before park opening) and a table service dinner, but as most TS breakfasts are buffet, even then have a hard time being hungry again by dinner.

But I can tell you that with 3 meals in one day and two of them being table service, I would be miserable even trying to walk around in the parks. Either that, or I would end up leaving a LOT of food on my plates. We have three full grown males in our family, and they would say the same. My hubby, who tends to panic if he doesn't think he's going to get to eat, would tell you right up front that one counter service, one table service and one snack is plenty in one day. And given the fact that each table service can take anywhere from 1 hr 15 min to 2 hrs, with 2 of those plus 1 CS, that is a potential of 4 1/2 hours in restaurants. That is a chunk out of your park day.

Also, you get a ridiculous amount of food at most counter service AND table service meals. By the end of our 12 day trips, we are usually (almost) sick of food. Just be careful, since this is your first time with it. On our first trip with the DDP, we brought breakfast bars, pop tarts, snacks, cereal, etc. to eat in the mornings and in the room. We never touched any of it... for 12 days. And by the end of the trip, we were starting to accumulate unused DDP snacks as well. LOL.

Have fun... relax and enjoy... you're going to love experiencing the dining plan with your family. The best thing you can do is not be rigid about it, so that you're flexible enough to enjoy your time both in and out of restaurants.

This is a great post - thanks! I am planning for our little family of 3 (Me, DH and DS) and whilst we have been to Disney before we have not done the DDP and to be honest - its a little overwhelming!

With all of your experience would you be able to advise me a little?

Our DS is going to be 4 when we go next May and his routine is that he has breakfast around 8am. I was thinkking of having breakfast in our room and then planning for lunch and dinner on the plan - do you have any thoughts on how I could work the credits better? Or should I just expect to leave quite a bit of food at meals......:sad2:

Thanks in advance!;)

So excited for you to get to do this as a family!! I think if your DS is accustomed to eating at 8 am, I would take something for him to eat in the room. Although you might also choose to use your snack credits for cereal, fruit, etc. in the food courts. However, I would lean toward saving my snack credits for some special treat in the parks, or even a bottled water, chocolate milk, frozen treat, or one of those famous Dole Whips. There is also the option, since your son is so young, to use his CS meal for his breakfast and then let him share with you and your hubby for lunch. Breakfasts come with 2 drinks since there are no desserts. So, you can put one drink away for later.

Since you will have refillable mugs with your plan, you can get a drink for yourself and hubby... hot chocolate, coffee, or tea or whatever, to tide you over in the mornings until your early lunch. And if you feel you need a breakfast bar or granola... something a little more substantial than a drink... you can always bring along a box. We always eat lunch as early as possible. If you can do that around 11 am then you'll probably be ready for dinner around 6-7 pm.

As for lunch, if you decided to use son's CS credit for breakfast you and hubby will have plenty of food. For example, if you went to MK and decided to eat at Cosmic Ray's ... let's say you get the roasted chicken and ribs lunch... you will have green beans, potatoes, and lots of meat on your plate to share, plus you get a drink and dessert. (It's as much or more food than you would get at a TS restaurant, just served in a fast food setting.) They will also give you a large drink if you ask for it. So that should be plenty to share, or you can use that 2nd drink in the backpack left from breakfast for DS's lunch.

Depending on where you eat dinner, you will again have a lot of food. You will have a meat and two vegetables and dessert, plus a drink. The portions tend to be huge for adult meals. There are healthy options/lighter options on most menus but the portions are still large. And, thank goodness there are many healthier options for children at WDW these days, with fruit, grilled meats, veggies as options for many of the CS and TS restaurants.

This is usually how our days go. Many days with our snack credits, we will just get a water or something frozen (Dole Whip, smoothie, frozen fruit bar, etc.) to cool off during the afternoon. There are many times I will go through a day and not even use my snack credit. But you can always use them for single serving bagged snacks to take home at the end of the trip.

Hope this helps. If you have any specific questions, please feel free to ask!

This is a really great and helpful insight..... thank you:flower3:

We have been known to eat well on occasion but I am pretty sure that we will be sharing a good few of our meals too as I remember the portions are really quite large aren't they?!

I am so excited to go - its been about 7 years since DH and I have been and DS starts school next year so it really will be a huge trip for us. Thats why I am planning so early as its a great thing to focus on! :goodvibes

I think I will feel better if I have something to offer him if he wakes up hungry and then plan a few days when we can be in the parks early and have a breakfast there.

Thanks again -

CS breakfasts on the DDP only come with 1 drink now. Apparently too many people complained about the extra drink so Disney took it away.

You've got to be kidding!! That is ridiculous. And so Disney to do a little damage control by taking away a drink! :rotfl: Always looking out for the customer. He he.

Couldn't agree more! PSB @ Akershus is an excellent choice.

And don't forget, you've got some of the most popular ADRs in your plan... Make absolutely sure you start grabbing those ADRs 180 days out.

Best of luck in your continued planning and preparations!pixiedust:

.

Good Catch!..I eliminated the extra CS on the last day. I double checked my TS and those still come out to 7 (5 regular meals and 1 signature dinner show)
