please help! disneyland trip of a life time

DH an I are look at making a trip to disneyland this year had planned the week after labor day looks like the haunted mansion one of our big favs an we really want to see it will be shut down getting ready for the holidays.


WHAT IS CLOSED THE WEEK OF AUG 29TH the week before Labor day....labor day crowds not so much a concern for us as we will be leaving dl either friday or sat morning.

What about beach over Labor day weekend tho as we'd also like to go to the beach for a day or 2 before heading back home.

Will the hotels at the beach area raise prices for the weekend? how much?

IMO going in September after Labor Day is not the time to visit DLR for the "trip of a lifetime". There will be too many things closed and reduced entertainment. For folks who visit DLR with some regularity (say every year) then September is a better option and is less crowded. But for a trip of a lifetime you really want to be there when everything is running.

Usually rides are not closed until after Labor Day so going the week of August 29 will be a much better option than after Labor Day. However, there may or may not be reduced hours and entertainment on weekdays. The AP summer blockout lifts Aug 22 and that will bring a lot of crowds to DLR in late August.

Any chance you can go the week of August 15? IMO that week will be better than late August or September.

I don't know about hotel prices.

Have to agree with Hydroguy, may be not the right time to go based on the dates and past history. If you are a bit flexable the week of the 15th of August would be better. We will be there that week. I remember last year, 3rd week in August all to well.
