because of map I understand "shortcut" of walking through Grand Californian to get to CA

Careful, though, they want to see your key card (or a receipt from a restaurant) in order to use that entrance. I don't know if they allow all resort guests or just GC guests to use it.

You could fix that by having breakfast at Storyteller's every day!...
