If I'm wrong about my interpretation of the DP changes please let me know:

3 adults, 2 kids (+1 infant) on the standard dining plan.

Le Cellier - DH really wants to try the steak but I will only want the cheddar soup and the kids might split a meal or we will share the fries, etc. 2 TS credits for DH, OOP for the rest of our food there or would my soup count as a snack.?. At Kona breakfast, pay OOP for our 2 adult meals as that looks to be the cheaper option and allow the TS credits to be used for DH at Le Cellier.

QS we can interchange adult and kid credits and we can get an adult meal and let the kids split it.?.
At BOG breakfast, is the dessert considered the pastries listed with each entrée? Are any substitutions allowed there at breakfast under the recent changes? We would want to get one adult entrée for the kids to split there if possible.

Otherwise, just trying to stretch the QS credits within the allowed changes. Any tips are greatly appreciated.

No snacks at TS restaurants, you'll need to pay for your soup.

If you are on the regular dining plan, child TS credits and adult TS credits are separate. You cannot use child credits to buy an adult meal. On the deluxe, you may be able to use them interchangeably.

No dessert is included at breakfast. The pastries come with your fixed price meal. You would have to ask BOG if they will allow any kind of substitution but they will not allow you to exchange the pastries for an adult entree. Because it is QS you would (supposedly at this time under new rules) be able to use your children's QS credits to buy adult meals.

Thank you. That is pretty much what I thought.

If we have extra TS kids meals, can they be used as any QS meal or snacks?

At Le Cellier, you may be able to switch your dessert entitlement for the soup. That is one of the changes, but until people ask and report back, we won't know exactly what will happen. But that would mean, no dessert for all of you. The kids could split a kid's meal, but it would still be 2 kid's credits.

OP doesn't want to use credits for herself, she just wants the soup. She would have to get someone else to switch their dessert for the soup if they can (don't know what kids are allowed to do). She's likely better off just paying for her soup unless her husband doesn't want a dessert and they can swap the dessert for that soup (meaning if there isn't something else the restaurant has designated as the item that can be swapped for dessert).

Thanks! This could work if DH will give me his dessert. He is the only one that wants a meal there and I had expected to pay OOP for soup and fries, but just wondered how the changes affected this. We'll see how we are feeling when we get there :drinking:
