We are trying to plan our next vac. We are looking at either April 19-26 or May 3-10. Does anyone know if anything is going on in Disney at these times? We were trying to plan when it wasnt' too crowded. I know Disney's always crowded :rotfl: But if anyone has any experience at either of these times I would love to know your opinion. Thanks

Actually I believe it'll be less crowded the beginning to mid May. Next to the last week of April will still have the late "spring-breakers". It really starts clearing the last week of April/beginning of May. The weather is also really great at this time. You'll be able to do alot of swimming if you want, but it won't be so hot that you need to. The closer to the end of May you get starts becoming more humid. Plus , both times I was there at this time we had virtually no rain! Out of 17 nights on 2 separate vacations we had a bit of rain late one evening like after 8 or 9. I just hope this info remains true the end of April early May again this year cuz that's when we're heading back!;) And I'm already dancin'! :cool1: :yay: :dance3: :dancer:

I'll be going in late April because Disney says it's the slowest time then. Plus April has the least rain of all the other months.

Mostly all the Spring breakers are done by the 2nd week of April. You can always find this info out if you search it in Google.

Have a magical trip!!! :wizard:

Thank you so much for your replies. I heard there was a mini marathon the first week of May. Is this true? Also does that make it more crowded. Thanks

I would pick May....

I'm going April 17-25th....Schools are OUT that week so I would imagine
that week will be more crowded.

The Minnie Marathon weekend is May 2 - 4. I have no idea how that affects crowds, though. Probably less than the marathon in January.

Our school vacation week ends on April 26.
If I didn't have school age children I would go in May to avoid the April vacation crowds.
Have fun! :goodvibes

Don't forget that WDW will be sponsering Grad Nights on April 18, 19, 25, 26. This means that the MK will be closed at 7 PM on those nights to accomodate participating students.

In addition the annual Flower and Garden show at Epcot will be running from March 19-June 1, 2008. This is a free exhibit and Epcot will not close early, but this is always a popular attraction

We may try to go Apr. 25th - May 1st. We could just skip MK on the 26th(grad nite). My son is out of school on the 25th just for one day but then he would only miss 4 days the next week instead of 5. We would also hopefully miss the mini marathon and spring breakers. Does anyone know if there is any discounts available at this time and if so when they will be made available. THanks

We're going 1st week of May based on the theory that most kids will still be in school and springbreak should be over by then. We're taking our son out of preschool and our friend's kids (high school) will be missing a few days as well. In the past, I've mostly gone during springbreak since my parents always chose that time and the parks were always super busy. Once I went first week of June and it wasn't too bad (most schools still in session). I guess the only drawback to going at a slower time is that the parks tend to close early.

weird.....it looks like MK is staying open late the vast majority of nights in april & may. hopefully, it is just b/c of the F&GF :confused3

surposely disney does a survey of the area hotels, condo, etc - to see what the occupancy rate is at that time. later they will fine tune in - about 3 to 2 weeks before.

right now it looks busy. hopefully either may or april or both the hours will go down.

Epcot won't and AK won't.

but both MK and Studios are definitely not on - offseason hours.

April 21-25 is Spring Break for schools in New York and very much of the Northeast. We are going that week and expecting big crowds. Early May would probably be better.

We are going 4/29 - 5/9 and staying at POR, we just love it there and this will be our second stay there. We love the mansions. The last time we were there we went at about the same time because the crowd levels were lower. We had wonderful weather, warm evenings, sunny days and lots of warmth to swim. The Flower and Garden Festival is beautiful and you will enjoy it. Have a wonderful trip.:flower3:

I went for Mother's Day weekend last year and it was great! If I wasn't a teacher I'd definitely go in May rather than April. The weather was fantastic and the crowds low. Spring breaks are over by then. We're going in April this year, but I'm (secretly) planning a short trip for next May.

We're going to be there the 23rd-29th of April. Spring break will be winding down, the weather will be good (no humidity and I've been told no rain). It's been 22 yrs since I've been to Disney in April.

Can't wait! Hurry up April!
