I love Wilderness Lodge in December. It just SCREAMS Christmas to me more than any of the other resorts. In 2009 I stayed there on a cash reservation in a woodsview room. I visit the resort each time I go around November or December, but I have not had a room there since that 2009 visit.

I always stay DVC and either choose Boardwalk or Animal Kingdom Villas. I am strongly considering Wilderness Lodge for 2016, but I am not sure. To some it would not matter much, but I have to ask......
Are the rooms....well, ugly? When I look at the standard rooms online they look nice, but when I look at the studios they look a bit antiquated and uninviting.

Could somebody who has been there as a staying guest or an owner share your thoughts with me?

VWL/WL is having major construction with room being converted to DVC, a new DVC pool, buildings, and water front DVC cabins being built. I would wait until 2018 to book there.

Thanks, Michael. I agree with you and Bill. I think I will wait and stay there in a few years or at least next year when most of the rooms are finished.

As Bill mentioned there is currently a lot of work being down outside the resort that is scheduled into 2017.
