OK, I've never been to Disneyland but would love to go. Told DH last night that I would like to go for our 20th anniversery  . I was looking at the site but I'm not sure I understand the dining plan. It is different the WDW. Can anyone explain how this works compared to WDW??? Also, any suggestion on which resort? At WDW, we like BC and WL.

Thanks for your help..:)

It's nowhere near the same as WDWs. DL's gives you vouchers for certain dollar amounts that you can use on food. When you use the vouchers, you don't get change. I don't thihk it saves you money like WDW's does, it just allows you to not carry around a bunch of cash for meals. I don't recommend it.

If it's just the 2 of you, I wouldn't really recommend it. When we do a package through Disney with the kids, we get it but we have found that we always have left overs which to me says "WASTED Money!" But it is very easy to use and the kids like having them.

Hi!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Welcome to the DL DIS!!!!!!!!!!

For more info on DL for a WDW vet like you, click on Hydro Guys Stickeys. A ton of stuff to read, that has helped alot of people.

By the way.......the Grand Californian is somewhat like the Wilderness Lodge. I would say it is a cross between the Wilderness, and upscale feeling of the Grand Floridian. I love it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

But alot of folks love the Disneyland Hotel. :dance3:

Have fun planning!!!!!!!!!!!!

I love this disboard....:cheer2: Everyone is so helpful.. Thank you all so much for your help. I'm glad I came on here before booking our DL vacation.

Again, thanks so much..

When are you thinking of coming to DL????

I agree with what everyone else said about the dining plan. It also really limits your dining choices since it doesn't include DTD or offsite!

Have fun planning, and congrats on 20 years!

If money is no object check out the Grand Californian followed by the Disneyland Hotel. They are both completely over priced but you will get the whole "disney feel" for your whole trip.
