Please explain the new drop off area for those of us using a rental car.

I understand there is a new drop off area at the port. I'd like a detailed description of the process of unloading luggage and parking the car. Thanks!

Me too....we are renting a car but parking it at the port this time. I know the new area has places for rental car shuttle buses...but do people parking their own cars at the port drop off their passengers and luggage in that area as well, or do they do that at the terminal like before?

It was our first cruise so I don't know if this procedure was "new"... but we pulled up and they directed us to the left of the terminal entrance, where the porters are waiting. We unloaded all the bags, and the porters took our checked luggage. My kids and I took the carry ons and walked into the terminal and my husband drove the rental car back across the street to park in the lot, and then joined us in the terminal. Timing was perfect. We were at the window just as he walked up!

I think people driving their own cars (or rentals) drop off right by the port building. We've used the new area twice (once being dropped off by Happy Limo and once with the Budget rental car shuttle), and all I've ever seen there are the shuttles, limos, and towncars.
