Please explain Grad Night

We have booked a 3 night stay in the Villas at Grand Cal theme park view. I have just found out that 2 of the 3 nights are Grad nights. Please explain what this means. Does the park close early to non-grads? Is the park over run all day by grads? Do the parks stay open all night ......(every time we go we get a theme park view of California Adventure, each night we are there they run World of Colors from approx 1 -3 am with very loud music...I can't imagine the music being any louder and maybe all night long with a grad night?!?!). Does the park open as usual the next morning? Any info you can provide and if anyone has stayed in the Grand Cal during one of these would be super. Thanks!

BTW, the grad nights are June 7 and 8th that we will be there...can anyone confirm that these grad nights are correct. I thought it was strange as most seniors seem to have graduated by then.

Sorry to HJ this thread, my daughter and I had a question about grad nights - when we were there, the teens all had on them, a little plastic see through bag, and security guards were going through their bags - what was this all about? To make it easier, because the bags were see through? What were they carrying into the parks? It looked like they all had similar items, and it seems like some sort of a tradition, lol.

I suspect that was something a single school's seniors had, not every grad that goes.
