We're leaving in two days!

We've done WDW alone many times and then twice with two little ones (3 and 2). The two trips with the kids, we didn't do any baby swapping. So for this trip, we have now three kids...ds5, dd3, and dd19 months. I was thinking about trying baby swap this time for some of our favorites like Splash Mountain.

How exactly would this work with three kids? Would DH or I ride alone (or with the 5 year old, if he doesn't chicken out) while the other of us waited with all three children? Is there room for this in the wait areas? Is it worth it?

Any info appreciated! :thumbsup2

Hello! We just got back from WDW last week. We were there Sept 10-14. We also have 3 kids:ages 2,4,4. I had also wondered about the child swap: I knew my twins would probably want to ride, but our 2 year old isn't tall enough.
But...when we went I found the child swap was totally unnecessary...because of it being off-season. When we went to ride Splash, we noticed that the wait time was only 5 minutes long. Instead of doing the child swap, I figured DS2 would enjoy it more wandering with me a bit around Frontierland. So, dh rode first with our twins while I waited with ds2 outside the ride. Then it was my turn to ride--however, I chickened out (I hate drops!). So, dh rode again with the twins, who loved it. Again just a 5 minute wait time--and this was at 1:00 p.m.! We found it the same with BMRR.
So, if I were you I'd just wait and see what the ride times are like, and maybe skip doing the child swap altogether if it's a very short wait time.

The lines are short right now but here is some help in case you have a long line. The whole family should walk up to the ride entrance, explain to the CM at the entrance you would like to do a rider switch, and you will recieve a card that is good for up to three people to go through the fastpass line. So the first time you will wait through the regular queue and then go through the fp queue.

Thanks a bunch you guys!

Twinspluscade,
What was your trip like with your three kiddos? Just wondering since our kids are so similar in age. We've been with the older 2, but not the youngest. Is three tough?

Hi!
It was much easeir than I thought taking the 3 to WDW. I had anticipated ahead of time that we'd have a few meltdowns, some whining, etc. But the kids surprised us, and were all really good! Our 2 year old son had a minor meltdown waiting for the bus back to the resort one afternoon (crying and saying "I tired!), but that was it. We did go back to the resort and have an afternoon rest every day, which really helped...although I think the twins could've kept going with no problem. Also, our 2 year old was always ready to go back to the resort by 6 or 7 every night, so Dh would go back with him while I stayed in the parks with the girls.
All in all, we had a great trip, and I'm so glad we took them when we did! I'm sure you guys will have a great trip too!

Kelly
