PLEASE Don't Yell at Me !! I Need To Get This Off My Chest !!

Yes the weather is very nice that time of year!
Not Having the Free Dining WILL NOT ruin our trip, thats for sure, I do love the DP !! Its Just Scrumptious!
YES, we are very lucky to be going to WDW at all!! That is very true!
Ooooooo Missing the Booking By One Day Takes The Cake, that Would Really Stink!

I will work on my envy for those.......I will step up to the plate and shout......."We Do Not Have Free Dining.......Yet We Shall Overcome This and Dine in Style, Eat Like Kings & Queens & Princesses, Stuff Our Little Faces and Even Gain 7 Pounds in One Week!!! You Free Dining Folks Will Not Bring Me Down !! Brag all you Want......I will Not Crack"
Ahhhhhh I Feel Much Better Now !! :smickey: :mickeyjum :earsboy: ::MickeyMo

Yes the crowds were very little, the weather was absolutely gorgeous.....
We never needed to wait in any long lines....Sometimes we never even needed a fast pass for big attractions.
We got perfect ADR's at all the restaurants we wanted....
Bus transportation around WDW was quite efficient, never a long wait...
The Christmas Decorations were up all over the place and Christmas Music was playing....that was totally cool! 80 degrees, shorts & tank tops & fake snow....and we singing Christmas Carols, Okay that was fantastic actually!
The Osbourne Lights were Outstanding at MGM!

Okay, Okay, you are right, no matter what " We are All In the Same Boat" :sail: :boat: Regardless of What it Is !!!
Thanks for Your Thoughts !! :cloud9: :thanks:

Just remember there's a reason why the DDP is free: heat, humidity, thunder storms, hurricanes, etc. Disney certainly isn't doing it out of the goodness of their hearts. It was actually a very clever way for them to keep the resorts full during that 6 week period where most people don't want to go. We are doing it this year for the first time as we've never tried the dining plan and didn't want to pay adult price for our young kids. I am hoping (praying!) the weather doesn't do us in as we're from the Pacific Northwest and anything over 70 or so feels like a heat wave!

So, although you may be a bit upset about not getting the plan for free...you will enjoy better weather, smaller crowds, and lower-priced rooms. All's well that ends well, right! :)
DITTO!!!

Of course if you had the "free" DP you could gain 10-15 pounds in 1 week! :thumbsup2

I'm a little disappointed myself, because I *have* free dining but now it looks like I'm not going to be able to use it for various reasons. However - one up side is that hopefully all those people with free dining will be snapping pictures of the food for posting ;)

Sorry, but I gotta dance!!! :Pinkbounc :bounce: :yay: :cool1: Last year we paid for the DDP, but are going during the free DDP this year. That extra savings allowed us to change from CR wing to CR tower with MK view....YAHOO!! Don't feel badly, we LOVED the DDP even when we paid for it and had planned to pay again this year.

:rotfl2::rotfl2: You are too funny! I wish that I had you sense pf humor last summer when I was planning our January trip and everyone on the boards was talking about their free dining plans. We still felt is was way worth it.

Now I am taking my DGD in August, you see I cannot let a "bargain" get away, but I am not looking forward to the sweltering heat. I also now need to think of activities to occupy a 4 YO can in the event we are stuck in the resort due to inclement weather. ( I refuse to say "Hurricane" out loud).

Have a great time!

Lol, OP.

We left WDW last August RIGHT before free dining started. I really really wanted to change my trip dates, but DH is a teacher, and cannot take vacation days on school days. Oh, was I jealous!! ;)

This year, they started the free dining dates a week earlier, so the latest dates we can travel in August are during free dining this time. :cool1:

Technically though, it isn't "free". The folks that are getting the "free dining" are having to pay rack rates for the room. I'm guessing that if you were able to get a discount rate (package) with dining that it would be somewhat comparable.

Perhaps that will ease your jealousy some? :goodvibes
Plus, you will be able to purchase park tickets at a discount from an outside broker. :thumbsup2

Just my humble opinion, but I would rather work a little extra and save a little more, and not go in August heat, than to save money on the DDP. If I was already going at that time, then of course I would LOVE it. To me, it's worth the extra money, especially since we dont get to go every year. :)

Ahhhhhh I love the pros & cons of this.....
Okay, I might crack just a tad here, but, someone mentioned because they have Free Dining they got to upgrade to a Deluxe Resort !! Now that would be quite nice....(take a deep breathe, they are not bragging......they are just informing me, I will not make a smirk on my face)
How Nice for You !! WOW !
We have never stayed at a Deluxe Resort, but thats okay......Now with my Chin Up & Smile Pasted on My Face I can Say " As Long as I am On Disney Property, whoooooo hoooooo for us !!
Honestly, that is something special, staying at a Disney Resort.....
It will be a great vacation !!
:disrocks: :tink: :flower1:

OT-I'm named hurricane this year (Joyce) but what's really strange is my best friend's name is Leslie, my mom is Patty & her BF is William.

Hey Anne:
Could you possibly ask any "friends" that might be visiting the first week of October to reschedule? I'd really appreciate it! :teeth:

I would have loved free dining as well. So far, I have no discounts on our package and we purchased the dining plan. Yesterday I found that if I had been a little more patient to buy airfare, I could have saved over $200! Oh well! This is our first trip and I am very excited! :cool1:
We're keeping it a secret from the kids. We are going in October for MNSSHP. Still haven't decided when we will tell them, maybe the morning of.

Okay - I'll admit - I am just a tiny bit jealous!!!

We went last year in September but we were using DVC points and DVC could not even purchase DP at that time.

This year we are going in late Oct/early Nov and we will be using DP!!! When I saw they were offering free DP again, I tried to get everyone to switch but no one was interested in going back down in the heat!!!

I'm just HAPPY to be going!!!!

We got in on the free dining last year and are going back this year in Sept. - the bad thing is we're only going for 4 days and I'm jealous of those who get to stay longer! Isn't that terrible! We go often and have found that 4 days is about the most we can take at one time (my DD21 at least).

I'm going to Niagara Falls next week and planning all of the details... the main thought i've been having? I sure wish they had the dining plan in niagara falls LOL LOL!!

We went to Niagara Falls in June of this year and we DEFINATELY were wishing for a Dining Plan!!! Atleast you are going with the right mindset. ( That food is going to be expensive  ) Just don't let it ruin your vacation. Enjoy the view....It truly is a beautiful sight!!! :thumbsup2

As a DVC member I could not get the free dining plan. I'm paying for it.

But I'm not paying anything out of pocket for the room, and I don't need to buy tickets, so I'm saving a bit over actually booking a package with free dining.
