As for that List of Friends.......Yes, Going in Mid-November I hope to Avoid having any of them "crash" our vacation !! YIKES !!!

Also, I do see your point about being envious for those that get to go for 10 days !!!
But still, sometimes reading thru the Dining Threads, it irks me ( yes yes, I know, I am working on it )....when I read

"All us Winners Getting all that Delicious Dining Absolutely Free, Lets All Chat About It Together and Make Fun of those who had to pay tons o' money for it!!!"

First off, I am just a hard working Mom, with 2 DD's, addicited to everything WDW !!! Going this November for 8 magical days with the Dining Plan, which I LOVE !!
Now, please don't bite my head off, but I have to VENT a little......
I will truly admit "I AM TOTALLY JEALOUS & ENVIOUS OF HEARING ABOUT THOSE WITH THE FREE DINING PLAN"........Okay, there, I said it....whewwwww I feel better now.....
Our schedule did not allow us to travel when FREE offer was available, and it does kind of sort of frustrate me to read all the whoooo hoooos, and yippee for us "we got Free Dining" people.......
Congrats & Good for You Folks, But I am jealous!
We are going to have a terrific wonderful time, and I would (and we did) get the Dining Pakcage cause I think it is Great !
But when I think of getting all that for Free, and I am not, it gives me a little know in my tummy.

I had originally booked a package with the dining plan before the free dining came out. I used my AAA travel agent so I got the AAA rate.
When the free dining package came out I had my agent change my package to the free dining package. It only lowered my package price by $120.
My package was for 6 nights and only for myself (a solo trip) staying at a deluxe. The $120 amounts to 3 free days of dining plan.
So the free dining plan wasn't exactly free and had I not been able to get it, the additional cost,from my perspective, would have been negligible.
So you aren't missing much and you get to pick a better time to go!

OK belle, well heres my little string of hope...... April was our first time staying and crunched numbers till my pennies bled! With that said, heres the best part... got a call from TA informing me our tickets were upgraded free to parkhoppers! WOW so when I got off mission space I did not feel one bit bad to go back to resort to hold onto the bed as my head whirled around and stomach was trying to find me back on earth! (must have left it up in space!)

So, have I tried everyway imaginable to get DH to go in September you bet but flat out NO WAY!!! What I can say is I will pray for a littel pixie dust to fall on you like it did me in APril. It was about $500 worth of pixie dust to get the upgraded tickets! Just remeber the strong chance of rain and how do you expain ok we can't go anywhere but we can eat for free!

Thats how I get to sleep with a little piece of mind, naturally I will bet the week I had planned in my head for September it will be brgiht and sunny so watch for my posting the first week of October of crying how I missed out! (hehehehe)

Anyways praying for some pixie for you and mostly a safe and happy trip that counts more than any free dining!

I was able to meet a dear friend of theirs in 2005 (aka: KATRINA) up close and personal (as it was a direct hit into our area) and would have much rather enjoyed a day or two or three at WDW. But at least I'm here and able to enjoy my "PAID" DDP this December while I enjoy all of the Christmas festivities.

No yelling from me ...I feel for you..I booked last Sept for my Feb trip while others were taking advantage of free dining.
This year it came up and I was about to book a cruise for my bday with just me and hubby and I saw this, I HAD to jump on it. Believe me, I was in your shoes last year.
You'll still have a great time. I get like that when I see ANYONE get a really good deal I can't/didn't get. That's life

there is way to much to be envious at disney - people always get better deals then you, better service, better comps . . . whatever! Dont even think about it

You are going to WDW when you can, you cant go then so dont worry about it!

I know how you feel, but imagine this...
We booked our last trip in January of 2005. Sometime in the year free dining came out and I was too stupid to realize and call back to get it. So we spent our whole honeymoon (all 12 days of it) PAYING FOR FOOD! GRR!!! I know how you feel!!!

We have all our ADR's booked for our November vacay, I really like the list we chose too. Without the Dining Plan we probably wouldn't have tried alot of the places......SO the Dining Plan is the way to go!!!

Actually though, we are going for a wedding and there are 60 people going and as far as I know the 5 of us are the only ones getting the free DDP. No one else thought it was a good deal. Crazy!

Group Hug for the OP! I've done free dining in a deluxe hotel, paid dining in a value hotel.... and this fall we're doing free dining in a value. Basically it's taken me 3 times to get my vacation dollar count so low!! At this point, I'm just cost-averaging

The good news is... the dining plan is well worth it even when you pay full price.

WELL I am going to gloat then I guess!!!

the free dining plus the airtran deal got me extra nights and an upgrade from POR to the POLY!! So the FREE dining plan for 3 adults and 2 kids, cannot be beat!!

and we never waited in much of a line more than 20 mins at the safari last yr during free dining...of course that was late sept and this time is mid August...so I am expecting more heat (although I do not see HOW...it was 95 most days then!!!) and more humidity, ONCE AGAIN, don't know how...but whatever...

expecting a few more lines too but at least I don't have to miss work time and kids school time (I teach). Last yr I had to take unpaid leave.

HAVING SAID THAT!! November was my 2nd choice, I actually had a pool home reserved for November, but then free dining....so....

I know NOVEMBER will be awesome!! GREAT weather (jealous) decorations (jelous) MVMCP (jealous as MNSSHP was SUPER last year!!) I will miss villan WISHES this year in August.


I am sure the crowds will be light for you too!!
