OK, I think Im going to be sorry I posted this BUT...............I can't believe I am the only one who thinks this.............

my family and I HATED our dinner at Ohana's...................
yes, it's true............I was so excited for it, and had heard how great it was, and got my family excited for it and.............we hated everything except the shrimp roll thing.....(I had about 10-15 of them to make up for my lack of eating the dinner!).

None of liked ANY of the meats and we thought the turkey on the skewer tasted like the inside of a new car smells.........(sorry!!!). I realize it is the mesquite thing..........I guess we are not crazy about it!! And the shrimp was so............dry.

I was really disappointed!!! We didn't even bother having dessert (and we were on the meal plan, so it was included........)

I was just curious if it was just me--I dont think I have ever heard a bad thing about Ohanas.

..and this is exectly why I don't like to answer posts that say "will I like this restaurant" or "should I eat in restaurant A or restaurant B?"

Everyone's taste is different..I always suggest that if you like what the menu looks like, give it a try; if the menu doesn't appeal to you ,then don't.

I'm sorry you didn't like it, but I know everyone has diff tastes and likes, plus the restaurants are often not consistent. I try to never tell someone they'll "love" someplace because I don't know if they will! People rave about things on here that I thought was terrible, it's always going to be diff each time =)

Don't feel bad. I feel the same way about Cape May. Alot of people love and because it receives so many raves, we go there over and over and are always disappointed.
Now as for O'Hana, the first time I wasn't impressed by the food. We went back the 2nd time because the kids enjoyed the games and guess what? We liked it that time and will always go back now.

Ohana's was one of the meals we were most looking forward to. It was also one of the most disappointing. It wasn't gross or anything, it was just like that's it? Wow factor definitely missing. Felt the same way about Boma. Totally over rated. We had a way better and cheaper meal at Tusker House. Salmon to die for!

Nothing to apologize for. Different strokes for different folks is all. My DF and I love, love, love Sci-Fi not only for its great theme but we like the food too! Based on what I've read not only here but in tourbooks as well, we are way in the minority! So see, it's not you.

I'm with you on this, Cookie. I found the meats to be dry, too. The view out the window was nice but I didn't think it was all that great. Of course, if-when we go again, it may turn out to be fantastic!

Sorry you did not like it. This is the only place we are doing again for our next trip here in 2 weeks we liked it so much. I guess if everyone liked the same place we would never get in same with resorts too.

No big deal. We have eaten 4 times at 'Ohana and the first three times were great. The last time we were there 2 years ago, our server tried to rush us through like the place was on fire. We did not go back the next year and we won't be going back in August. We may be there some time in the future, but who knows!!
