Please check with Disney Travel Co. before booking Airtran Flights!!!

I called Disney to see about adding airtran flights to our package and the flight cost round trip is the same as it is if I book with airtran directly. Is it possible that only certain city are discounted?

It is possible. I was looking out of Milwaukee and the difference was about $50 roundtrip. We do have Frontier, Airtran and Southwest that have direct flights that day so maybe that has something to do with it :confused3

I posted this info a couple of weeks ago when we booked. I originally booked a room only because of the deals for Aug. Airfare kept running around $300 each for us out of MSP. I did not want to pay this! So because we had booked a package w/cheaper airfare in the past, I decided to check it out. Sure enough, airfare was $212 a person w/a package! Now that same flight is $319. Couldn't believe it! Needless to say, we're going to Disney World!

Maybe it depends on the dates. For my September trip, I found flights were cheaper out of Bloomington, IL and Moline, IL through Disney.

I would love to fly out of moline or Bloomington since they are both within an hour or so from me but our flights were over 400$ more round trip( for our family of 4) so midway has been coming up the cheapest. We are also flying over July 4th wkend so I wonder if that has to do with it.I'll keep on checking since we have sometime:surfweb:

Airtran just went up again this morning - $10 per ticket each way..... I am gonna book thru Disney in about 15 mins..just waiting for the bank to raise my debit card limit for the day..... I am not gonna wait another second..... we are also flying out of MSP and the deals have been few and far between for MSP lately....

Booked!!! Yay!!
Details
5 RT tickets from MSP to MCO - $1243 - total price including all taxes thru WDW

5 RT tickets from MSP to MCO - $1743 - total price including all taxes thru Air Tran directly
5 RT tickets from MSP to MCO - $1667 - total price including all taxes thru SW directly

Could not pass up this deal - hopefully we will like Air Tran

We booked flights through Disney when we went in December and it only cost DH and I $387 rt for both of us going from Akron Ohio. That's only $193 each! Can't beat it! I'm going to see what I can do about September's trip. Been waiting for prices to go down, but getting nervous! Thanks OP for the reminder!

Does anyone know if you can book a flight for dates that are different than what you booked with WDW? I'm staying at POP from 8/21-8/29, but I want my flights to be for 8/18-8/29. Would I still get the discount?

I went on the Airtran website and found the flights I wanted, and when I booked our trip with Disney I told them the flight times and they gave me the $ discount for the exact flights I wanted. Saved us almost $100 PP ($300 more to spend at Disney, so it's a win win for all of us!!:thumbsup2) Flights have since gone up on Airtran, not by much, but they have, so I am quite pleased!

I booked my flights last night through WDTC and saved $1056 over what AirTran directly would be. They were 159 round trip for Pittsburgh to Orlando vs 335 through AirTran site and they are the exact flights that I wanted. Its a WIN WIN for all of us. That's for 4Adults and 2 children ages 5 and 6.

I already have my trip booked...can I go somewhere on the Disney website to check out flights? I'm having a dense, sleep-deprived mommy morning.

Just go on the Disney website and pretend you are making a new reservation. Towards the bottom of the page you can add flights. Click that to see which ones are available through them. Once you figure out the times/dates, call Disney Travel Company and let them know you would like to add flights. Compare the additional cost to your package with the amount it would be booking through Airtran directly to see if you will save anything. Depending upon how booked your flights are, you may or may not save money. I just checked my dates and the flight that was $200 roundtrip when I started the post is now $315 roundtrip.

I couldn't find any airtran flights for my dates on disney but can on airtrans website. :confused3
If I'm not quite ready to book airfare will disney still give me a quote if I call? We don't want to book air today, but in the next few weeks.

I have been playing around with this all weekend. It seems that from Sept. on you can save with booking through Disney, but when I put in August dates, it was the exact same as booking through Airtran. Interesting! We were going to go the first week of Sept. for the kids free, then got a postcard in the mail for free dining, but it ends Aug. 13. With the cheaper airfare and kids free in Sept., it seems like we'll save a lot more than the free dining in Aug.
