Please be respectful of other boards

I didn't even know there was a Vegas board until yesterday. If it isn't on the main list, I probably don't know it exists. I only find out about them when threads are redirected and I click on them.

I think a lot of folks ask on the CB because they "know" the CBers. They want feedback from those folks...not the strangers on a sub-board (assuming they even know the sub-board exists.) You probably get more replies on the CB, too.

If Bavaria or Buckalew (or Mushy, now that I see she's above me) was at Hilton Head, I really want their feedback. If poopiehead178 was there, I don't care much, KWIM?

But I'll try. Honest to oranges.

I totally agree. And honestly? I have sort of stopped by the Vegas board, and after reading thought it was more of a regular updates of "we're all going to Vegas chat thread." I guess I'll have to read closer.

I've got three trips scheduled there in the next 10 months.....maybe I can pick up some new tips.

I was just pointing out that having 2 moderators ask us to gently refer posters to certain forums, that they should have posters gently refer posters to the appropriate forum when there is a forum setup for that purpose. Not sure why Judy started this thread, except that maybe she is bored moderating forums having so little traffic? :cloud9:

yup, just nor enough drama in my life!

I think if nothing else it is a huge benefit to capture that information onto a specialty board that does not move as fast as the CB. On the CB you get 3 pages of responses on a Vegas question...and it is buried in 3 days. On the Vegas board many people over a longer period of time will benefit from that info. It also makes search much more efficient.

I guess as someone who navigates using the "form jump" at the bottom of the page......I didn't know people don't see the other forum options.

Lastly putting planning questions on planning boards frees up the CB for it's more "social" and current event threads to stay on top :)

So are my recipes that I share on the CB - and once in awhile on the BB - okay or not?

Just want to make sure I'm clear and know whether I should continue to share them or not..:goodvibes

I see your point about info being easier to find... but one of the things i love about the CB is the tremendous variety of posts/information...

I may not be planning a trip but if someone posts here ..I will read it and make a mental note if it is something I might like someday....

And I may not be looking for a recipe but if someone posts one and it looks good i may try it...

all part of community IMO......

We have a Vegas board? :confused3

So even Northern CA questions need to go to the DL board even if you aren't visiting DL?

I in no way moderate this board, I am not trying to set policy, just asking for consideration as in "consider posting planning questions on planning boards". No intrest is what is "right" only what might be best .

I also started this thread to also be informational.......perhaps I should of stressed the invitation part of it more !:flower3:

Thanks for the response..:)

I'll just assume it's okay to post the recipes until someone tells me otherwise..:goodvibes

yes, it was created a few years a go by popular request of our members.

So even Northern CA questions need to go to the DL board even if you aren't visiting DL?

Nope, the DLR board is for people going to DL. the California and the West board has pages of great threads related to visiting northern CA....it is not a "Have to or you will get points" type issue, but it is a huge benefit to access all that info and our dedicated experts, and in the spirit of the DIS leave your own knowledge for others :)

I know when I've tried posting requests on the specialist boards, I might get one response if I'm lucky. Post it here and you'll have 5 pages of answers!

I agree, is there anything wrong with dual-post?
If it is linked there and still can get response other sites,
The same thing, what boards have more hits a day. Not everyone plans a Vegas trip, a small concentration may or may not.

If we only are allowed to post on the one board you may never get helpful information. But out of the community, some can be from these areas, like me in the Pocono's, or visiting phila with lots of tips.

If they posted somewhere else I would not see it. It is about activity, and we just are not that active in various boards like the family, budget or community boards.
