Plea to my Dis Family for prayers.

My 23 year old nephew was involved in a diving accident yesterday and I am asking for your prayers for him. He and several friends were at a swimming hole when he dove in and floated back up face down. His friends, thinking he was playing a joke, went on swimming. A few minutes later, they noticed he was gone, having sunk to the bottom of the swimming hole.

They dove around and finally found him, brought him up and started CPR. They called for help and LifeFlight flew him to the nearest trauma unit.

He has 5 to 10 percent brain activity and severe spinal cord damage.

I ask for your prayers, good thoughts, whatever will help. He's such a sweet, thoughtful young man. The world is a better place because of him.

My first husband was 24 when he had a very similar accident. I was with him when he dove in. So I know what you guys are going through. Many many prayers I say for your nephew.

I'm at an absolute loss for words - I'm so sorry about your nephew. My SIL was paralyzed 4 years ago in a car accident, and I remember how scary and difficult of a time it was. I will definately keep him, you and your family in my thoughts and prayers.
