Im taking my wife and two little girls in Feb, and curious about this character breakfast.

Can you request indoor seating? My daughter can't be exposed to sunlight.

What's the cost? For adults, kids, and a 2 yr old?

When I make the reservation I ask the CM to make a note for INDOOR seating.
I also remind the CM of the request when we check in for the CB.
Can't remember the cost? When it's time to pay for meals I try not to look at the cost. It takes the fun out of the trip for me.

We have never had trouble requesting indoor seating when we had an ADR. When we did walk-up we were told we needed an ADR to request indoor seating. Although I'd think with a medical need, they would still try to seat you inside.

I'm not 100% sure, but I've been there 4 times. 3 times with a reservation we were always inside. Once we walked up without a reservation and was seated outside. Not sure if that was just a coincidence or not.

We had a resv on Christmas Day, and were given the option of dining outside or waiting 20 minutes for a table inside. Baby it was cold outside, so we waited under a patio heater for an inside seat, and it was right about a 20 minute wait.

The character breakfast was the highlight of our day. Cost was $32 adult, $18 child. I'm not sure what the age cut-off is, but I'd suspect the 2 yo would be $18, as you are paying as much for the character experience as the food consumed.

A simple call to Disney reservations would clear up the pricing on the 2 yo.

We've done this breakfast on each of our Disney trips and the character interaction is great. I think current pricing is $30 for adults and $14 for children (3-9yrs) although it can fluctuate a bit depending on when you visit. Children under 3 should be free. We had the first reservation of the day both times and were seated inside.

Thanks for the replies, everyone.

I was hoping to get the first reservation of the day, but I came too late, we'll be there in about 25 days.

Anyone know how often reservations are dropped? Any chance I could still get an early reservation if I call the day before?

How soon after the first reservation is your reservation? The waiting area is outside. Even the indoor seating is mostly next to windows and very sunny. You might want to call back more than just the day before. But also, if you're only 20 minutes after the first reservation, it might be worth getting there really early and trying to check in first.

Are the characters there only for breakfast? I know that the only time you can make a reservation is for breakfast, but spending $18 for my four year old to have the buffet seems a bit excessive if I can just get him a kids meal at lunch for $7. Of course, if the character aspect is different, that would influence our decision. Also, what time does the buffet run until?

From all accounts, people seem to be very pleased with the character interaction at the Plaza Inn...I'm wondering if that's mainly during the breakfast buffet. Can we expect the same interaction during lunch or dinner?

The characters are only there for breakfast.

I got a resv for Christmas morning on the 22d. I started trying around the 18th. I just kept looking and looking and looking until it comes open. The beauty of Disney's $10PP cancellation policy is that it gives incentive for people to cancel if they aren't going to show up, allowing others to get a spot. You just need to be online to reserve it when it opens.

You can keep the resv you have, grab the better time if it comes up, then drop the later resv.

I'd like to make reservations for the latest possible time for the character breakfast. I am looking at the 10:30 spot on February 28th, for 10 people. I am wondering if anyone can comment on going late to the breakfast. Do you still get to see the characters? What time do they "kick you out", etc.?

We had the last reservation (10:30) on an early entry (I think 8) weekday in early December. We asked for a inside table when we checked in and had to wait about 5 minutes. When we started they had two food stations open but around 11:30 or so they started changing over but one was still open. They tried to get everyone out by noon and when we left a little before then people were lined up waiting for the counter service but not allowed in yet.
We saw every single character but it did take the full hour and a half. It looked to me like they have a very specific schedule of what area each character goes in at what time so you have to be patient but you will see each one. I asked numerous CMs if Minnie would be coming to our area and they all looked at a paper they had, assured me yes and gave me a consistent time and sure enough she was there then.
It was a great experience and a highlight of the trip. They were really interactive and fun and at the end we had three or four at our table at the same time running around and playing. We have two little girls too and I highly recommend!

Can you get into DL for an early reservation prior to park opening? We are off site.

There are some times prior to park opening. I think it varies from 40 to 50 minutes before park opening, depending on whether it's an early open day at DL or not.

If you've been to WDW, it's different from how early ADRs have historically operated there. You won't be able to get up next to the castle and I don't think Photopass is out. And depending on what time you arrive, Main Street might already be full of people waiting behind the rope.

As the restaurant empties out for breakfast, you get some really awesome character interactions. We get the last available reservation when we go, and, toward the end, we've practically had the place - and all of the characters - to ourselves. Last time, Captain Hook was fighting Dale over possession of my DD8's affection.

So, are there cast members taking photos of the characters with your family that can be applied to your Photo Pass?

They take a picture at the front of the restaurant (no characters) that you can purchase/download, but otherwise no photographers with the characters as previously mentioned.
