On friday may 1st the park is scheduled to open at 9am. Went I went to book a character breakfast at plaza in that morning, it let me book an 8:10 reservation. We will not be staying on property so we dont have early entry into the parks that day. Will we still be able to enter the park that early for the breakfast reservation or do i need to cancel that reservation and make a new one for after opening at 9am?

Also if we are able to enter early for that reservation what time do they let you enter the park, right at 8:10 or a little before?

I think you enter through the turn stile that is to the far right. Tell them of your reservation and you will be able to enter.

It's been a while since I've been, but the turnstile to the far left has always been the one I've seen used for character breakfast reservations. They'll have a list of everyone that has reservations before regular park opening time. Just tell them your name, they'll scan your tickets, and you're good to go!

5-10 minutes. They're not going to let you in any earlier than the start of MM/EMH. It shouldn't take more than 5 minutes to walk there from the gate.

This is the part that confuses me. A 9 AM opening on a Friday, but an 8:10 breakfast reservation available inside Disneyland? Friday is not an early entry day at Disneyland, and the official calendar currently shows that still to be true. DCA is listed as the early opening park that morning. To my knowledge, when the park opens at 9 AM or 10 AM, then they tend to open the gates around half an hour early. I would have expected the earliest possible reservation to be 8:40 that morning. You may want to double-check that time.

When you do have a breakfast reservation that starts before the official non-early entry park hours, then go to gate 1 and check-in. You will be allowed inside even if you aren't eligible for early entry.

I just called and asked the CM I spoke with if with a 9am park opening on a friday would a 8:10 reservations and plaza in be correct and she said yes. I hope this is right becuase it will really suck if i get there and it turns out its not correct and then i cant get a seating and the first slot available

I'm glad you called and confirmed. I only very occasionally visit the parks when they don't open at 8 AM, so I guess my knowledge of later opening practices is out of date.

Yes I have done this many times. I like getting in on a non mm day and going to our breakfast. Two reasons for this. I like the early seating. i think I see more characters faster. Also I like walking down main street nearly empty. Perfect time for a few pictures on the way to breakfast.
Also if you are doing Ariel's do the same thing. Non mm day hour before park opens

Thanks! We are not doing Ariels for breakfast, only for lunch so it wont work for us. But im excited for the first seating of plaza inn, im hoping it will be a little less hectic since you wont have people leaving as you get there.
