Hi,

I'm just wondering about the Playhouse Disney (or is it Disney Junior?) show in DCA - could someone tell me how long it is and what characters are in it, and is it a pretty good show overall? I have two two-year olds that don't watch TV so they don't know the shows, but they love Mickey and Minnie and Pooh Bear and all his friends from books, toys etc., so I'm trying to decide if it is worth it to take them to the show. Thanks so much!

It has Jake and the Neverland Pirates in it.

Kids stand up and sing along and play along. It would help knowing the characters but is still fun if they don't.

I think this is a much overlooked attractions that is great for young kids.

It has Mickey and the gang from Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, Jake and the Neverland Pirates, Handy Manny, and the Little Einsteins. I think it's about 20-30 minutes long from what I remember. It's a great show that your kids would most likely enjoy. Definitely worth seeing. Bubbles, tissue paper confetti and streamers come down from the ceiling, plus the kids are encouraged to stand up, dance and participate. Mine are 1 and 3 and they love it.

I love taking my kids to this show... as another poster said the show has Mickey and friends (they're puppets on stage -- very cool and well done!). Then there are mini "adventures" with Handy Manny, Little Einsteins, and Jake and the Neverland Pirates. Jake replaced the Winnie the Pooh section a while back (which bummed me out, but I'll survive )

It is really interactive and lots of fun for the younger kids... My kids are up dancing and playing along the whole time :cheer2: (which is part of the show -- they're not being distracting and rude!)

One warning piece: you're all sitting on the floor watching a slightly elevated stage. This helps with little kids having a good view regardless of where you sit, but try to avoid sitting your child right behind the father of the group in front of you. Also, my behind is usually a little numb by the end of it! :rotfl2:

Oh Sorcerer Jody- I could have written the same question myself- have two two year olds also! I wondered the same thing- how mine would do. I've had friends tell me that it is great and they'd love it, but wasn't sure they'd enjoy it or not. Sounds like it might be one of our first stops next time. From one mom of double trouble to another- I hope you are having a good day!

Agree 100%

We took our daughters to see this on our trip in September, and they loved it!!! One daughter is 7, and the other is 2. It's a big spread, and there were kids of all ages dancing around and having a great time.

It's especially nice because you get to sit down in an air conditioned room for about 20 minutes while the kids watch a puppet show. It's nice because the little ones who have been stuck in a stroller most of the day have a chance to stretch their legs and have some fun too.

Your kids will love this. I don't like that Jake replaced Pooh and the gang since I grew up with them.

How long is the show? How early to show up beforehand?

The show is probably 20-30 minutes You don't need to show up early unless you want to sit in the first couple of rows (then you might want to try around 30 minutes early). We feel like the view is still awesome from anywhere, as the show is on an elevated stage and projected onto the wall... Since Monster's Inc is a stone's throw away, we usually go there while people are lining up, and we just walk right in when the doors open. Also, there are benches in the very back for guests with wheelchairs or who can't sit on the floor.

I can't recommend this show enough --- we really love it!

100% agree-it is GREAT!!!! My daughter is 11 months, we were with a 7 year old and 4 YO-ALL loved it!

They are puppets (I didn't know this ahead of time) that come up from the stage with a live "host"!

We walked right in right beforehand and sat in the back!

You gotta go!!!

Yes, agree...it's wonderful for that age! We just went yesterday, able to walk up as they were opening the doors, sat right in the middle and it was great! My kids are 5 and almost 3 and both LOVED it...my almost 3 year old was in complete awe!:) It's really cute! The CM said it was 26-28 min. when we asked because we were trying to see if we could catch the next Aladdin show after.

Thanks so much for all of your responses - it sounds like it is a must-see with toddlers, even if they don't know all of the characters. I am disappointed about Winnie the Pooh though - my kids just love Pooh and all his friends and would have been SO excited to see them. Oh well.

We leave in two weeks and two days - I am so happy to be taking my little ones to their first trip to the most magical place on earth!

And yes, MickeyMoush, it sure is fun having two two-year olds - they make me laugh every day!
