Playhouse Disney seating?

Does everyone sit on the floor or are there seats in the back? Do you sit down as you file in or do you choose where to sit? My autistic DS12 is a big boy and I would feel much better about the experience if we could sit near the back (I'd hate to block a much smaller child's view - yes I understand that the stage is up high and that adults are also sitting with their children). Plus, if we need to make a quick exit because it's too loud, etc.. I would want to be near the exit. What's your experience?

It is floor seating, but if you are in a wheelchair or stroller as awheel chair then you can stay in that ( of course). If you tell the CM's at the door that you need to be in the back, they will put you they will help. We have seen them just file people in, but people get up and move around anyway. We use a stroller as a wheelchair with our son and they always ask if he needs to stay in the chair or if he would like to get out and sit on the floor. THey are always very nice and helpful so I think that if you tell them you might need to make a quick exit then they will be happy to work with you.

Oh thank you!! Your response really put me at ease!! I think he would very much enjoy the show.... it's definitely on the "must see" list now!! :thumbsup2

I enjoy the show myself. It is alot of fun. I did not find the show to loud or to have any sudden nosies, but I don't know how sensitive your son is. Also at some points in the show there are bubbles that fall down and also paper leaves. One child at a show we saw was frightened by this, but I thought that if you knew about it you could warn your son if he is bothered by things like that.

Thank you for the "heads up"!! We can prepare him for that!!:thumbsup2 I'm hoping that he will be ok with the noise level. I know it's hard for him to know what it will be like in person as opposed to watching the video (a million times a day, I might add...LOL)!! I'm hoping he will enjoy it!!;) Thanks for the tip!

There are a few benches in the back.

Just a thought-as you enter on the left side there is a podium(for a stage manager), but next to it is a couple of benches and then open space. Your 12 year old would have plenty of room to dance and enjoy the show and not have to worry about little ones being able to see.

There are benches on the other side (near the exit used during the show), but they put wheelchairs in front of that area and it can be hard to see. Also there is a lot of "traffic" between you and the show that may be distracting.

Both of these areas are out of the "falling leaves and streamers" areas, so they won't startle your child.

That's EXACTLY the info I was looking for!! Thx!!!:thumbsup2

You could also pick up some ear plugs for him to use if it gets too loud for him. They sell all kinds of them at Rite Aid and CVS pharmacies that you could pick up and bring with you just in case you need them. My younger son is very sensitive to noise so we will be bringing some for him. We also want to get him used to having them in his ears ahead of time so he knows what it is like. If he really can't tolerate those in his ears you could try getting him some ear muffs or headphones with nothing happening with them or even those ear protectors that construction guys wear.

I hope that helps.
