Quick quesiton on behalf of DD - is there any Playhouse Disney merchandise in DL or DTD?? In particualr DD is a huge fan of Johnny and The Sprites, Bunnytown, and Imagination Movers.

I'm hoping to find some PH Disney items also. My son loves Ooh and Aah. I'd love to find some stuffed animals of them.

ETA: My thought for finding this stuff is to look around at DCA where they have the live show. I'm hoping that they will have a little gift shop there with a good selection. Can anyone verify this?

You are right about the shop in DCA - they have some stuff there, but unfortunately not a good selection at all. :(

All Playhouse Disney stuff is pretty much Mickey, Little Einsteins (which I am not a fan of for its context and logistics reasons and their oversized heads - why does Rocket have to hop up a mountain when he's a rocket and can fly - but it's not made for me ;) ), and My Friends Tigger and Pooh.

You can still find some occasional JoJo stuff in Florida, but not here at DL.
Johnny is somewhat on the way out, unfortunately - I adore him (he was a Lumiere on Broadway).

Bunnytown and Imagination Movers are too new. They also never made Ooh and Ah plush. Since Bunnytown is a Spiffy Productions property, I don't imaginge they will actually do anything with it. I know they sell the Imagination Movers CDs.

Try going to www.disneyshopping.com and making custom designed TShirts there. They have more obscure characters and you can put any combination of text and image on the shirt.

When my daughter was really into Jojo's Circus we found some Playhouse Disney merchandise at the gift shops across the street from where they do the show in California Adventure.

Unfortunately, that shop primarily carries all of the "tween" merchandise now... Hannah Montana, HSM, etc.....

I think they need to have more of a designated area for Playhouse Disney merchandise!

Rocket only hops up a mountain when he can't fly, because big bad jet breaks his flying button! and they have to win the race... :rotfl: - I don't like the show either but DS loves it, this is when I leave the room and do :laundy: LUCKY ME! :) I wonder why they do have such big heads, I find their whinny voices to be very annoying.

Where is the store with the playhouse disney stuff, we were there last year and I don't remember seeing anything by the playhouse disney theater... :confused3 maybe in the store across the street

:worship: You are a hoot, Nicksmommy! :worship:

We just fly right by that show and head for Sprout, when TLE is on!!! I know there is good music and some educational points in the show, but it's on the scale of the Barney aversion that most parents had 15 years ago. Actually, I think in every episode they make Rocket do something different when he should just fly! And you are right about the voices. My youngest was simply terrified by them at Hollywood and Dine Character Dinner at DHS last year on our WDW trip! My husband swears it was their head size!:rotfl2:

All the merchandise they have for Playhouse is in the shop across the street with the princess merchandise and the tween stuff. There may be some in the Toy Shop in the entrance plaza - where they have the Build a Potato Head stuff. In WDW, it's all on a cart outside the attraction.

Thanks for the info Nancy.

Rocket is quite a nut, especially when trying to get soup to his sick Grandmother Rocket. Who knew...I guess rocket reproduction will probably not be explained on the show, but I just wonder where his parents are, and if they would approve of his 'hopping' around. :rolleyes1

However, I have a good memory now. Today, my 19 month old said his first big sentence. In his best Quincy voice, he said "I k nah lee it" (translation-I can not believe it!) :goodvibes

I'm off to try for the t-shirts. If I can come up with some ideas I'll get them shipped to the hotel whilst we're there. I thought I may be pushing it Imagination Movers, I didn't realise that Johnny may be end-of-life. It's a shame, DD really likes it and gets involved. She claims she's too big now for some of the shows on Playhouse, but at the same time she is still too young for so much on regular Disney.

Don't take it as gospel that Johnny is on his way out, but you have to look at the signs. They tend to move the less popular shows to the earliest time slots. Although he did move into a weekly spot from his old Saturday and Sunday, so they may be trying to get some life back into him.

You knew Bear in the Big Blue House was on death's door when he got the coverted 5:30am spot. Then he got moved to 5:30am on Sat and Sun - that was the Kiss of Death! Stanley went the same way, as well as several others. (Noggin does it too - it moved Oobi to 10pm.) Jojo keeps hanging on by a thread, with a bit of renewed life thanks to the Feeling Good with JoJo segments.

I know a small bit about TV programming, as my husband does TV show promos.

Different times at home. Johnny is on at 6.30pm on AU/NZ Playhouse (and repeated sometime during the day); He's only been on here for about a year. Bear is still on here as well, at 7pm!!!

Cool, my hubby does them here too!!! Most people don't know what you're talking about when you mention that to others.

I so have Bear envy!!!!!!! they haven't played him on air in the last 2+ years!!!!

He's the most wonderful show - we have all the DVDs and several of the episodes they ran on the last season. We also have 2 large plush Bears and a small one!

My hubby started out doing promo for Buffy, Angel, Felicity, and many other WB network shows. He moved to doing stuff for Disney Channel (contract) and now works for TLC/Discovery Networks.

When are you guys up for holiday? Maybe we can pop over and say hi - we're only 45 minutes away from DL - right by Universal.
