I got a chance to go to the new “Playhouse Disney – Live On Stage” yesterday at DCA. I have to say we, especially my 5 year old son, enjoyed it and thought it was much better than the old version. Congratulations to Disney for improving what was already a great show for young kids. They had the characters for “Handy Manny”, “Little Einstein”, and “Mickey Mouse Clubhouse”. :thumbsup2

My only gripe is that the characters are small and very low on the stage, and can, at times, be tough to see for the little ones sitting on the ground.

I agree with this. We went last Friday, and the show was cute, kids enjoyed it, but we ended up toward the back and kids had a VERY difficult time seeing..especially when people in front of us let their kids stand so they could see. They need to raise the stage..the characters are short!

I'm probably in the minority, but I think I like the old show better! Not that I didn't like the new one, but the small characters did bug me, and I just didn't find it as exciting as the old one. Maybe it's just because it was my second time seeing it, so the excitement wore off!

I do hope that they can do something about the character size. I'd hate to think of a child getting soooo excited to see their favorite Playhouse Disney character, only to see the top their heads.

The kids and I were invited to the media event. With all the cameras and reporters there was some room for all the invited families. We were off to the side by the entrance towards the middle and my kids didnt' have a problems seeing the characters. That is with all the cameras and tripods blocking the way too. The only issue I had was that my youngest wanted to run to the stage.

ooo I can't wait! DD will love it. She was 2 last time when she saw the old show. Do they still have bubbles?

Here's a photo that I took from the back of the theater. I was standing up since I was at the very back, but pretty much everyone else is sitting on the floor. It would be difficult to see the puppets on stage if you're a small child in the back. I wish there was some easy way to fix the sightline problems for younger guests.

The Handy Manny portion of the show revolves around fixing the broken bubble making machine. Hmmm, I wonder if they were successful? :)

In addition to Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, Handy Manny and Little Einsteins (mentioned in previous posts above), the show also features characters from My Friends Tigger and Pooh.
