If you have young kids or are young at heart, you need to stop in at the Playhouse disney dance party during the MGM Extra Evening Magic Hours. We almost skipped this thinking it was the same show, but when they opened there door, there was Mickey calling all the kids in for a dance party. They had a DJ and dancers and Mickey and other character appearing through the night. Bubble every so often and ballon artists. DD kicked off her shoes and danced. The DJ played many of the Radio Disney tunes. It was pretty neat. My DD spent about an hour in there. I am not sure how it looked at 1am when it closed not sure there might have been preschool age kids in there, but it was pretty neat.

Next thing my DD will want is a dance party with Dan Zanes.

I am planning to attend this in August with my little princess:. I was thinking that my boys wouldn't want to go but, when I mentioned it to them they were actually excited about it and said that they wanted to go.
If only I could get Grumpy excited about it.

Where in MGM will that be? We were there last Sept. and will be there again and don't recall seeing that.

It is in the same building as the Play House Disney Live show -- or at least it was. I've heard nothing but good things about it. Have a great time.

Did it in Feb. and my girls had a blast. How often at WDW do you get to get up close and personal with Mickey, Goofy, Jojo, etc. for longer than a photograph? We stayed for at least an hour and will do it again in June!:goodvibes

Is this all year long or just for the special toddler months in the fall?

It is only when they have Extra Magic Evening hours. So we just returned and it was on Wednesday May 23rd. The hours were from 10pm - 1am on that day, because extra evening hours are 3 hours extended on park closing.

Remember this is for WDW resort guests only.

I wonder if this is something new? We went to evening EMH last sept. and it was just the regular playhouse disney show. That would be a lot of fun if it was there this Sept. Will try but won't mention to the kids in the case it is just a seasonal thing

Not sure if it is seasonal, we were there in November, but did not go to MGM for evening hours. Of course probably would have made the same assumption that it was just the regular show, glad we decided to check it out this trip.

Would you say a DD9 will still enjoy it, or will she be too old?

Sure... I am a lot older than 9 and I enjoyed it. I saw a lot ages there and no one was sitting. The DJ does a very good job of keeping it to entertain all ages. The music is a mixture of playhouse disney songs and music from the Disney mania CD or from Radio Disney. If she enjoys getting her picture taken with characters or like Hannah Montana.

Hey there! We just got back form Disney! It was fabulous! We went to the extra magic hours dance party last year and this year! I highly recommend it...it is soo much fun! I do have a question though. If anyone can help me that would be GREAT!!! One of the dance songs was sooo fun...we want to buy the cd for the kids. I don't have a clue what it was called but it had the words walk it out now (it is not the hip hop song) and it had just a few basci steps.....walk to the right...walk to the left...right leg out, left leg out repeat and then walk it out as you turn around. Does anyone know the title of this song? THANK YOU!!!

This is one thing I'm really sorry we missed. DH was pretty adamant that we keep DD (2.5) on some semblance of a schedule, so it was past her bedtime. I did, however, get him to agree to return to Disney in 5 years. Hope they still have it then!

I was just looking at the EMH for New Years Eve. DHS has evening hours that day will this dance party be going on then? Sounds like a great place to take my 8, 6, and 3 year old for New Years!

We were there in May and my DD who was 22 months at the time had a blast! She shook her booty! They also had someone there making balloon animals. It was a great time!

It's different than the cha cha slide! I know that one....this one just has 3 basic steps. ARGGGG!!! I hate getting old! I am losing my memory! Thanks for you help though!
