Platinum Blonde? No, Platinum Plan-My AKL PTR~Update 9/19 Tipping the Scale!

:rotfl: :woohoo: Another reader! So very happy to have you here! Well I am glad you were laughing! My goal is to get you laughing so hard you spew your screen... oh that will be the wetsuit picture I am sure!

You can count me in on your PTR! You had me laughing so hard! I also have always wanted to do the Platinum Plan so I am going to read all about what you are doing and dream that one day I will be able to do it.

I love AKL...that is my favorite resort! Boma is really yummy and if you get a chance (I know you have a busy schedule) but do the culinary tour at AKL before you eat there. The chefs will kinda tell you what is for dinner and how to "attack" the buffet, I did that back in 06 and it worked out perfectly...you also go to Jiko for the tour.

The culinary tour.. do you have to preschedule that? Is it on certain days? that sounds like a cool thing and I might just taste a few things that I might not have if I didn't. Does that make any sense?

My nephew is here from Florida, he brought gifts back from South Africa.. he is a college kid and went on some type of humanitarian trip there... He brought me WINE. It is yummy and I think it might have a higher alcohol level than ours here? Not sure, just felt like it.

This will be our first AKL trip, our first of many things so it should be interesting to say the least!

A flight of wines... that sounds wonderful! I think I will do it as we leave there and head to visit family... always good to go on a "flight" first! :lmao:
You say MOST PEOPLE... are you not a zebra dome lover? I have heard so many things about them so I am ready to try them.

My DD and I love coffee, but do not like coffee-flavored ice cream, cake or candy. We most definitely taste the coffee in the Zebra Domes and won't eat them.

BUT...there are so many other delicious desserts for us to eat at Boma.

Count me in as desert adventurous too! Not so much in the soup department. Tried borcst (spelling?) soup at wedding this month. I thought it was supposed to cold. It was yuck.

I did like the cheddar cheese soup at le cellier though.

When I did it you did not have to pre-schedule it. Look on the activities boards down near the bathrooms near Boma. They will have to time and days of the culinary tour. You then check in at the Jiko desk and you start at Jiko then go to Boma. It was a great time and a good taste test of certain foods.

Moms...Great trip report! Your plans are so amazing!:thumbsup2

I can't wait to hear about your experience with the Platinum Plan. I've always wondered what that would be like! Ya'll are sure to have a blast.

I choked on my tea when I read about the wetsuit. :lmao: Too funny!

Seriously, though...I'm pooh sized myself & have often shied away from moments like these - but I'm over it now. Life is short. Enjoy yourself while you can. Being a good Southern gal, you'll have no problems - just put on your best Southern belle smile, hold your head high, and enjoy the experience!

Still looking for ideas for group costumes?
(Believe me, adults DO dress up for the MNSSHP - I've seen the evidence, I mean, pictures *ahem*).

Anyhoo, here's a link to a site with a lot of good ideas: http://www.essortment.com/hobbies/halloweencostum_sdop.htm

With a movie buff for a DS, he'd probably have a lot of great ideas as well. Most costumes don't have to be elaborate & are just as fun. Let us know if ya'll decide on something.

I LOVE Halloween and would love to live vicariously through ya'll!;)

Great PTR so far...can't wait to read more.

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: That is sooo funny! Who needs alcohol when you can do all that sober. You were sober at work right? :lmao: I hit myself in the teeth once with the phone... grabbed the phone instead of my coffee cup. :rotfl: Maybe I should have a glass of wine now... all this alcohol talk has got me in the mood. But then again... what if my TV stand decides tonight is the night for another broken toe....

I forgot one thing, one morning when I was going into work. The nurse (i worked at a mental health and substance abuse center) had locked herself in our building because she was by herself. Well, I didn't know the door was locked. I went to push the storm door open and low and behold.......my head goes and knocks the door. The poor nurse thought someone was trying to beat the door down. I had a huge knot on my head the rest of the day!:rolleyes1

So now you know where we are going to eat, and that is all great and wonderful, but is that all we intend to do at Disney? Yes, I mean no, of course not! Here are some non-food reservations we have in place.

Sunday, the 21st
Illuminations Cruise! @8:30

Monday, the 22nd
Fantasmic! (Not the dinner package, just reserved seating) @8:00

Tuesday, the 23rd
The Magic Behind our Steam Trains Tour at MK @7:30am
Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party @7PM

Wednesday, the 24th
Parasailing @9:30
Epcot Seas Aqua Tour @ 12:30
Zahanati Massage @6:30 for Adults

Thursday, the 25th
Sunrise Safari @ 7AM
Carriage Ride at Disneys Fort Wilderness @ 8PM

Friday, the 26th
Dolphins in Depth @ 9:45 for Mary & Tyler
Miniature Golf for Susan & Trevor

The tours will take a lot of time, we know. But we are so excited to do these now that we are willing to sacrifice being able to ride tons of rides. We’ll be back, we know that so very well.

So I read over all the tours and finally found a great report on the Epcot Seas Aqua Tour by happybratpack. Click here to read it!I started reading it with great interest as I would know all the details. And I quote,

“At that point we were taken to the locker rooms where each of our names were on the locker doors. Inside were your wetsuit,”

Did that say what I thought it said? Re-reading just as fast as my eyes could, WETSUIT? No one told me I had to wear a wetsuit! I knew the other tour took a wetsuit but mine never mentioned it. A wetsuit? Ok, people, I am not Ms. Skinny who still looks fat in a wetsuit, I look fat ahem, excuse me, Poohlike without one.

Breathing deeply and keeping the panic down. Perhaps it is optional….

“we had to trudge through the pavilion and up the stairs in our lovely sausage attire. I just kept my head down and pushed on among the stares.”

:::::::thump:::::::::: :scared1:

Horrid thoughts of children gathering around my, what did she call it? Sausage attired self and people staring and me just melting away, not quick enough to look good in this suit mind you, just mentally melting.

Read on I tell myself, it’s just a moment in time, you can walk really fast and perhaps use DS to block my pavilion entrance entirely if I plan this out.

“Before heading off to the deep blue they had each party turn around for a picture that they later gave each person a copy of in a nice little folder.”

Oh yeah… a picture is just what I need. That helps:rolleyes1 … perhaps I will hang it on my refrigerator to help me with this eternal diet that I seem to be on.

I have also heard it rumored that people looking at the tanks can see us in there as well and I hope the glass is thick enough that if some Shamoo type comments come, I don’t hear them. I seriously almost cancelled me in this tour but decided most of these people I will never see again as long as I don’t have anything with a LGMH on! :lmao:

The great and wonderful news is this, I have been so wrapped up in how will I get the wetsuit on, will I be able to get one that fits, will it be so tight I can’t reach my feet to put the little flippers on, after all that, will I even be able to breath through the regulator thing, etc, that I have completely forgotten to worry about the whole parasailing thing.

Up Next: Does this make my butt look big?

OH MY GOSH!!!!! That would be me thinking the same thing. If I am stuffe into something, it better squeeze me in and make me look good!:rotfl2:

Who says that anyway? I know I don’t openly ask for trouble in that area. I think if your butt is big, you know it and should not wear words on it unless you are renting that spot out as an advertising billboard for payment! And even then.., ok, just saying. Hahahaha:lmao: :lmao:

But we are Disney folks and with that comes some pride in the Disney clothes, purses, bags, pins, shoes etc that we might carry with us. Does it matter that most people don’t obsess over these things? No, they just don’t know to do that yet, right?

So here are some of the things we are taking or wearing on our trips.
My shirts, the red and white polka dot one also has a headband scarf that goes along with it.

DSCN2758.jpg

My oldest son’s t-shirts. He has a couple more from the Disney cruise line and more Jack Skellington stuff that he currently is wearing.

DSCN2763.jpg

My youngest son’s t-shirts. He has more as well as he is all Disney and also has inherited all of his brother’s shirts that have long ago been undersized.

DSCN2762.jpg

Mary’s t-shirts, although she has voiced objections about matching shirts, we do have them as well. Not sure which day to wear them on though. Hmm… any thoughts on that?

DSCN2764.jpg

DSCN2765.jpg

And we have pins and key chains with Do you Dis? On them…
And of course I have a binder. What professional Diser does not? Ok, so this is my first one but I never said I was not a slow learner.

See my Tink pages. Not a lot in the book yet, but I have customized maps and I have MNSSHP tickets in it! I also printed out the squished penny list and also the snack credit list that jjohnson has worked so hard on 2008 Confirmed Snacks included in the Dining Plan

And since I carry plenty of my own fannie, I decided against a fanny pack to accentuate that any further, so, we bought bags. This was found on yet another Dis thread. So we thought and thought about cute sayings and came up with these.

I also managed to find this cute little Tink lunchbox that I plan to use as my camera bag. I also got a little notebook to keep track of daily notes so I can do an absolutely perfect trip report. Ok, perhaps not, but I sure will give it a great try. I also have this little keychain to use somehow… perhaps to put little LGMH follow along with us links? Who knows, but I HAD to have it.

Oh ok.. I do love a coffee... so I am thinking Zebra Domes might be a favorite of mine. Unless something so chocolate comes along and outranks it!

I will try the cheddar cheese soup at le cellier too. :thumbsup2 I figure if it is yucko, I will pass it by to the human garbage disposal.. ahem.. I mean DS16. Yeah. That's what I meant. :rotfl2:

Oh that sounds easy enough really. I will do it as we are eating at both places and that could be very fun. No wetsuits either, so no stress right? I didn't even know they had an activity board until now. See, i will look like an AKL pro. Pays to bleed lime green!!

Dawn!! Hello it is great to see you here... as you see I am tickled pink that you made it over! I am on that website now and dying laughing at some of the possibilities... not sure about wearing tights in public as that might get me going on public displays of purposeful embarassing moments. :rotfl2:

you got it! I might even try to interview odd people with a fake microphone for my trip report.

It is very easy and no wetsuits are needed. It does pay to bleed lime green...it is amazing what you find out here.

I think you said you aren't a big soup fan but the Butternut Squash soup is really yummy! Oh and the Zebra Domes are good but I REALLY like the chocoalte mousse crunch that they have at Boma!!! It is heavenly and I like it better than Zebra Domes.

BTW you shirts for the trip look great...I have to find a good Disney shirt to wear...hmm off I go to Disney shopping.

Subbing........... popcorn::

Your PTR cracks me up. I am laughing so hard about the wetsuit thing. I would not even attempt it. I'd have to slather on vaseline and try and jump into it from the second story or something and hope I could slide right into the stupid thing. :scared1:

Ok, i will try that if they have it. I know they had it on the cruise and tons of people got it and i didn't of course. And i am all about trying that chocolate mousse crunch too!

We should make t-shirts up that say, "We bleed lime green!". I think we could make a killing on them!

I have to say that I did think about sneaking in some baby oil and lubbing myself up. A diver friend of mine said that she just showers and wets her wetsuit as well and just glides in. Ahem... I don't know if I will glide in, but I can hop, jump, pull, stretch, beg the person in the next stall, and anything else I can think of to get it on.

The costume ideas are great, aren't they? I love the idea of dressing like Survivors - talk about a simple costume! :rotfl:

And we still watch that show! hahaha but we will be going to the Spirit of Aloha and then directly there afterwards so we don't want to look too "survivorish" lol

Hi, I'll join in! Looks like fun. Just skimming now but subbing so I can read and post later when I'm not so sleepy!

That is toooooo funny! Most people are trying to break out not in...umm.. I worked at one too... I captured an escaped patient once.

Oh my gosh!!! If they tried to run out I let them!! Our's was just a day treatment center! I had to **** some attitude a lot there! One day, this guy who was in a substanc abuse group, his mom was in the lobby having a heart attach. Well, I called 911. He would run up to the window and scream at me to hurry up! I looked at him and said, "If you don't get away from my window, she won't be the only one the EMT's are working on. NOW SIT DOWN AND SHUT UP!!!" I was so mad.....

I love your keychains!!! Where did you have them made? I am not talented like that at all!!

That is so crazy! I have to say there were a few that I felt so badly for. We were inpatient and had many kids and many commited patients. Very sad mostly. Some funny stories though.. I'll have to add them in here and there.

I love your keychains!!! Where did you have them made? I am not talented like that at all!!

Let me tell you about those keychains. You just buy them at a craft store and snap them open and insert a picture or whatever. You can actually just use the LGMH's from Home Depot and write on them even but we printed them on the computer and did front and back. Less than $1. each. They also have buttons. It is like photo button/keychain makers.

I did get crafty in some other ways though... more on that soon. :3dglasses :woohoo:
