Plant-based options coming to Disney restaurants

These increased options will be great for the many people with dairy and/or egg allergies as well. I’m personally super excited to think about how many more types of food people will be able to enjoy that they previously may not have been able to.

Could be interesting, will have to see price point and enjoyability.

  • Steamed Asian Dumplings from Le Cellier at Epcot – You’ll love these plant-based meat dumplings, served with bok choy, Chinese long beans, red peppers and radish in a delicious and fragrant Asian broth.
  • Shiriki Noodle Salad from Jungle Navigation Co. LTD Skipper Canteen at Magic Kingdom Park – This refreshing salad is made with noodles, edamame beans, mushrooms, green mango and cucumber, tossed with a sweet chili sauce.
  • Felucian Garden Spread from Docking Bay 7 Food & Cargo at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge (Disney’s Hollywood Studios at Walt Disney World Resort and Disneyland Park at the Disneyland Resort) – Made with plant-based “kefta,” herb hummus, tomato-cucumber relish and pita, this is the perfect bite for your visit to a galaxy far, far away.

  • Chili-Spiced Crispy Fried Tofu Bowl from Satu’li Canteen at Disney’s Animal Kingdom – This taste of Pandora features crispy tofu, seasoned with chili-spice and topped with a crunchy vegetable slaw, boba balls and your choice of base and sauce.
  • Plant-Based Cashew Cheescake from California Grill at Disney’s Contemporary Resort – Just one of many scrumptious plant-based desserts available at Walt Disney World Resort.

Skeptical of the claim of "hundreds", but still, this will make it so much easier for so many people.

Cashew cheesecake...Yes please.

I've had that cheesecake. It is gorgeous to look at! As far as the taste.... I'll say that I appreciated the effort more than the execution. I'll give it another chance on the hopes that it's usually better. The main issue I had was that it wasn't cheesecake-y at all. I don't think the cashews were ground smooth enough.

The Satu'li dish is not new. They've had that from the beginning.

I'm vegetarian, not vegan. While I'm happy to see them offering more and putting it on the menu (as opposed to some places having "secret" vegan dishes you had to know to ask for), I'm also a little nervous about what this will mean for current vegetarian offerings. I can see them remaking a lot of dishes that include dairy or egg to be vegan so they qualify for the new symbol. In some cases that will work wonderfully and offer good options for more people, but in other cases the taste may suffer or the nutrition information may change a lot (ie, subbing higher carb things for dairy, adding more potatoes and high-carb ingredients to make dishes more filling, etc). I have to watch my carbs, so I don't know yet if the change will mean more or fewer options for me. I guess I'd say that I'm cautiously excited--I hope they use good judgement about which vegetarian dishes to remake as fully plant-based as opposed to just unilaterally re-making most meatless items to be plant based.

Agree. My son is vegetarian (his choice) not vegan, and I like to get some animal-based protein in him when I can, especially eggs. He doesn't mind fake meats which is good, but I do worry about him getting balanced meals. Don't want him just eating a bunch of soy and carbs.
