Plans have been filed for DVC expansion at Caribbean Beach Resort

I am also guilty, but I know that when I make my purchase I am aware of what I buy. I think what Disney dies when they sell a resort but then reduce the amenities and increase inconvenience after the fact is way different. There is no reasonable excuse to do so without some sort of recompense to those who made their purchase in good faith.

I also wonder what the bar is when folks like me and you, those who have continued to visit knowing the costs have increased exponentially, day enough. I'm not sure Disney can sustain if they rely on the once and done folks. If frequent flyers get disillusioned by disrespectful treatment or skyrocketing costs stay away we will be seeing " slow seasons" again

I agree with you. When I make my resort reservation, it is in good faith the resort will honor my reservation as booked and if they can't, will compensate me in some acceptable way such as an upgrade, discount, or move to another resort.

I also agree with you that Disney is not catering to the frequent visitor. However, it isn't until the "slow seasons" happen that we'll see anything toward marketing back to us.

Wait a minute. So a morning breakfast buffet. And a Quick Service at night in the summer. Does that mean people going initially will need to deal with only prepackaged sandwiches for dinner and lunch? So, did they just simply not anticipate people being upset by that and are now scrambling to get something together for dinners?

Both? I'm not sure this is the only info I have.

That part is still unclear to me as well. I read it as you could get hot items but a limited selection. What it doesn't not sound like is any sort of temporary food court situation.

I wonder what the hours of the quick serve will be. We always enjoy going to food courts after a day at the parks and notice that a lot of others do as well.

The buffet sounds nice at least. I wonder where it will be?

For the record, I think there need to be more late night QS options. The only 24 hour option is at GF and that sucks. I've come from the parks at midnight super hungry/thirsty and a closed food court

So here's the hook------ looking at the floor plans for the copper creek rooms-- there is a "alternate studio" which is closer to a one bedroom, with out the full kitchen--- They seem to indicate it will be at the same point value of the other studios....... Suppose about a third of the studios are these units at CBT .. Even though the buy in is the same, and the point charts are the same (as they are at CCV and whatever WL changed to) people will be able to get an upgraded studio stay (think family suites?) at CBT... IF they can book at 11 months..... which requires ownership.......

Same concept as not enough studios at VGF, Same concept as the bungalows loading the sellable point count at PVB.

I think this could sell CBT....and..

Gateway to converting the family suites....

Hmmm...the soup thickens...

Over on the DVC threads they think the alternate studio will not have it"s own booking category because they did not declare it as such, but I'm not sold-- BWV has two different views which have the same point values but are different booking categories....And the alternate studios will be part of a set of 2 bedroom lock offs.... makes a really nice room.

Again sorry for double posting but @Madonna3 I just wanted to let you know I sent the email! Good job on wording that my discomfort was the compensation once again!!! Hoping I get something out of this!

Have they released point charts yet?

I think no...and I see no way they won't charge more...absolutely no way.

No points charts but they released the point value average for each room type-- studio, one bed, etc. if there were no "seasons". there is a GV also. according to others the average is the same as what the average would be at the original WLV....... I didn't calculate it so I can't be sure.

The old wilderness studios seemed small...these are a tad smaller.

The "purchased week" option is disgusting...contrary to the whole point of the whole program...

This is gonna be fondly referred to as "used to be a good thing" as time goes on...no doubt.

That article makes much effort to say that the "points are the same" as the previous wilderness lodge...

Sure...at 200% the cost.

...Disney gonna dis...

Oh no doubt. (all of it)...

but if the point per stay stays the same as old w-- It's a tell on the direction for the next generation of resorts we seem to be closing in on.

I am certain the bonus studio is the key to understanding these magnificent creations.... lock on the homing signal.....

That's the interesting part...how could the bigger studio be "smaller"? Can't work...it would be a 4 chambered closet.

From looking at the floor plans the AS is definitely bigger than the DS....... It seems the article may have not addressed the AS because of ? lack of information at this point?

It has to be at least 100 sf bigger...which means no way in hell theyre the same points.

Unless there is like 4 of them to fit the structural steel like the "values" at animal kingdom...that's a possibility. Then it's like a rainbow unicorn from a practical standpoint.
