Plans have been filed for DVC expansion at Caribbean Beach Resort

I kind of want to, I didn't stand my ground at all but it kind of irks me that I missed out on the deal. Granted it's not that big of a deal for me that if I have to pay the 75 per night oh well but it does bother me that we called and got nothing out of it
I don't think that there is a time limit on the deal. More a squeaky wheel issue. I'm with you on not wanting to be demanding and pushy but being persistent and logical can be effective. A PP mentioned that there is a disincentive for the CMs to stay on the phone too long. I would play up that angle

Really !?!?!

YES! I was shocked. Like dead shocked when I showed up at POP at 10:30pm Sunday night and of course only the pizza/pasta station was open, but they were advertising mussels on the menu. So, I was about to ask, but the guy ahead of me ordered them too. They just said it would be a 10 minute wait and we both had no problems waiting and they were GOOD! I mean not like 5 star Italian restaurant good, but they didn't kill me and they tasted amazing and I got 2 sides with it.

probably harvested right out the lake ;) Need get the thing dredged before the gondola comes in.

See that is the little things, that need to happen. I realize with a place that big, menu planning is a challenge to get the quantity of quality food needed to supply the masses. It's nice when they can whip out a special every now and again.

I had MUSSELS at POP this weekend! MUSSELS!! And they were good!!!!!

That sounds good...I would never order them...but it sounds good.

The one thing I should admit is that the quickserve seems to be approached in a different way. They have more "hook" items in both the hotels and the parks of late. Definitely a different approach. They almost want people to dump the sit downs...there are angles why.

:rotfl2:

Honestly though, it seemed to be a regular menu item and not a special.

ETA: It's on their regular menu: http://allears.net/dining/menu/everything-pop/lunch-dinner

You should. They were very good. The order was HUGE and it included bread, salad, and choice of another side. I got green beans, but I should have just got double salad.

I would...don't find myself at pop much these days though...it's been 4 years.

Ya know, neither do we. I'm a "deluxe" snob, but I wasn't paying $600 for President's Day weekend and Disney was really scarce on rooms so POP came open with a passholder discount two days before I wanted to stay when everything had been booked solid for at least a month prior so I took it, figuring I could slum it for a day. I actually had a good time and I justified staying there for "research purposes" to see if even with added transportation options if this is something I would pay extra for and the answer was no. The price I had paid was actually probably the most I would ever pay.

Don't get me wrong...I like pop a lot. Port (not Dixie...which is different)...Coronado...

But since the rooms across property are so ridiculous...it has me draw ranks around DVC that much more. I have and will continue to pay occasionally out of pocket when the discounts are glaring - but that tends to be deluxes these days.

I guess I trust Disney a little more than I would the food court mall and it really was very good food. Don't knock Disney food courts. Some of the greatest chefs at Disney started out at the food courts.
I agree. I really like the POR food court.

One trip we did a "resort hop" over to Art of Animation just to check it out and because we wanted to try their food court. I found it pretty darn good and with some solid options. Something fun to do on a break day or something

Have always thought POR did a great job in their QS food court. Can't say the same for their TS though .. ugh Boatwrights

C'mon, who hasn't rolled the dice on a gas station egg salad sandwich before? :)

That sounds like a trip to the emergency department!

I'm mostly kidding, plus mussels are pretty easy to prepare. I just am not a seafood person for various reasons :)
