So, with Valentines Day coming up tomorrow.. what are your plans for the big day?

Do you celebrate or is it just another day of the week for you?

What did you get your SO? What do you hope he/she got you?

I don't have plans for the day itself because I have to work a 15 hour day! ACK! We hope to celebrate on Sunday if I'm not dead! LOL Maybe just go out to eat or maybe a movie.

I'm not going to say what I bought Obi-Wan cuz he snoops on my threads! ;) ;) Can't say I asked for anything in particular though. We shall see!

Happy Valentines Day everyone!

So far, I plan on waking up sometime tomorrow.;) Other than that, no plans. It's just another day.

I hope you and Matt have a great Valentine's Day, Lauri.:)

lt's just another day for us. We'll probably order a pizza and watch last Sunday's Curb Your Enthusiasm and Sex & The City on demand.

well, my husband planned a romantic weekend away at a beautiful bed and breakfast.

before you start getting jealous, let me tell you the reason for this. we haven't been away alone together since the kids have been born (over 6 yrs).
i've constantly tried to plan little getaways and he always refuses. this year i tried again and when he refused, i had a tizzy fit.
so he went to work and at lunch time i get a call that he's planned 2 days away including reservations at restaurants.
i found out that it was his office staff that did all the planning but i don't even care.
I"M GOING AWAY!
you know what the best part will be? waking up when i want, getting out of bed when i want and no little whiners complaing that they're hungry and want breakfast. it's the little things.

Ummmm, check out my countdown clock. Orlando here we come!!!!:p

I'm doing my standard VDay celebration....

Making a lovely heart shaped pizza for DH and then engaging in marital activites for a few hours  :hyper:

Well, provided DH doesn't spend all night on his cell phone and leave me high and dry :( Darn business man :(

Since every day around here is like V-day, I guess it will be just another day. Very romantic guy, my Mickey. :teeth: :teeth:

He'll be working all day, so we will spend a relaxing evening at home unless he gets called back out. :D

My dh has planned a surprise getaway for us this weekend! This is coming from someone that never even plans a date, or cares if we do anything together on our days off together! Needless to say, I was very surprised!

I'm not supposed to know, but.... he has planned a vow renewal ceremony for us in Gatlinburg, TN! I'm starting to get a little nervous now...

I'm looking forward to the weekend away, but will miss our 2yo dd! Thank goodness, she will be coming over just for the day (for the ceremony, I'm guessing...)!

Hope everyone has a fabulous weekend! ::yes::

Tiffany, how sweet!!!!!

I'm trying to figure something for DH and I to do tomorrow. We are both on the South Beach Diet so we don't want to eat out. It is suppose to rain all day here tomorrow also. If I could ship our son somewhere, we would have a nice romantic dinner in front of the fireplace. Oh well. We're going on a cruise in May without DS so I guess we'll have all of the romance we want then. ;)

We don't have any big plans since DH has to work. He is getting off early though, so that will be nice. I think we're going to go to our favorite Chinese restaurant then rent a movie and cuddle on the couch. A nice, relaxing evening sounds great to me. ::yes::

We had wonderful plans for a long weekend back in Ann Arbor. Then the long weekend got cancelled due to snow (we use President's day as a snow make-up day). We were just going to go for the day on Saturday, visit with old friends and have a nice dinner at one of our old favorites, and DD brings home a note from school. It appears that our "Select Chior Ensamble" (DD is "one of the select few") has a last minute "opportunity." Some Opportunity. If you cannot attend, you will be giving up your place in the chior, to one of the very deserving back-ups! She will be gone the whole day! 7a.m. until 4 p.m.! I think I'll spend the day at the gym, and I know I will be making Fisherman's Stew for dinner. That's it. Not exactly just another day, but nothing really special either. Except DD is excited about the show, and we will get to see her perform. I guess that is special. ::yes::

Happy Friday the 13th! You never know, it may turn out better than you think!

Keep the Faith!
Tracy

We rented "Under the Tuscan Sun", will order takeout italian with a nice bottle of wine and have a nice relaxing evening at home. I bought DH a card, but no present. Still considering it, though.

Not sure where the kids fit into this picture.

The kids fit into the picture....at Mimi's house!!! Woohoo!! :teeth:

We will be going to a Peter White concert. A good friend of ours, Michael Paulo, plays sax in Peter White's band & they are having a special Valentine's Day concert here in town...so Michael Paulo called & invited us to the concert tomorrow evening. We're pretty excited. We're also bringing the kids & my DS8 is so excited because he'll get to meet all the muscian's & Michael will bring him up on stage so he can "touch" all the instruments. Then he'll probably get some autographs too.

We'll enjoy it because we love our friend Michael & we also enjoy Jazz very much.

Check out: www.michaelpaulo.com

For those who live in California, you may know him as a celebrity or anyone else who's in the jazz circuit.

I bought DH a big heart-shaped tin of Mrs. Field's chocolates, and he got me the blushing bears from Hallmark (I had been dropping hints for a couple of weeks). I have to go to work at 4:00 then we have a wedding reception to attend later, should be fun. :)

When I got home from work last night DH had 3 pink roses in a vase and tuxedo chocolate covered strawberries in the fridge and a big card!
When he gets home today I have a big Hershey Kiss on his dresser w/a coconut russell stover valentine. Under these are 2 rolls of quarters and a roll of nickels since we're going to Foxwoods on Sun.
Sat we're going for Valentines Day lunch.

I have $10 for DS in a card along w/a few bags of valentine candy to share with his friend who's over for the wknd. (His parents went away for a romantic wknd)

We're going to see Elvis. :teeth: We need to turn in DH's car lease, and Memphis is the closest dealer. I want to see an impersonator!

As for gifts, I gave him a nice sweater this morning, and I bought myself the extended version of "Robin Hood: Prince of Theives" for him to give me. :teeth:

Working...DH and I don't do anything for Valentines Day! :)
