Hi, Lisa ,

You are already starting out with a good plan :). I've been in October (15-25) 2003--It was a perfect temp. in the mornings and evenings (75-78), but in the afternoons it got up in the 80s--overall, it was great and there were only long lines the newest or most thrilling rides, but we had fast passes--problem solved :teeth:. This is regular season.

Dec. 1- Dec.13, 2002: Very magical time of year to go: Holiday decorations are up and holiday music is heard everywhere :). It was a bit cold. . .I wore a regular shirt with a sweatshirt over it, and I was fine for the whole trip---even went on Kali River Rapids (with a poncho on of course ;)) No lines anywhere, and it's value season during that time. DH and I prefer this time of year.

Early May 1996: Beautiful weather and low crowds. It does get a bit too hot for my liking (mid 80s). I don't like it too hot---prefer it colder to hotter. Don't know what that season is. . .

I've also been in mid January 1998-- Pretty mild winter in WDW that year. I wore a pull-over sweater some days and shorts and short-sleeved shirts others. The day we got there we went swimming!!! No crowds. Value season.

I hope this helps!

Thanks to all you guys - I was looking to go either oct nov of 2004 or april of 2005 - would you say that is a good time not too cold and low lines? Anyone know of any of the good thrill rides - I am a big ride finatic...

Hi again!
IMHO, Oct/Nov of this year would be great: It's regular season, and the weather is usually warm but not hot (can get cool at night); managable to low lines (USE FAST PASS ;)). But if you really want to go this year, I suggest booking your room ASAP. Due to the Food & Wine festival going on in Oct. and Nov. in EPCOT, it may be less likely that you get a room(s) that you want for your stay since that event is so popular.

Aptil 2005 would be a great time to go ONLY if you can go after April 16 (meaning travel between the 17th and the end of April if you really have to go that month). If you plan on going any time earlier than the 17, you will be going during PEAK SEASON---Think horribly long lines and skin to skin contact with strangers from God-knows-where. IMHO, the worst time to go following Holiday Season.

Some great thrilling rides are:

In MK:
-Space Mountain
-Splash Mountain
-Thunder Mountain
-Alien Encounter Extra TERRORestrial (Unfortunately, closed forever for a Stich attraction scheduled to open in Fall of this year)

In Disney-MGM Studios:
-Rockin' Roller Coaster
-Twighlight Zone Tower of Terror
-Star Tours
In EPCOT:
-Test Track
-Mission: SPACE
-The ride in the Norway Pavillion (just a tiny bit thrilling)
- Soarin' Over California (coming in 2006)

In Animal Kingdom:
-Dinosaur
-Kali River Rapids
- Expedition: Everest (coming in 2006)

That's all I can think of right now. But WDW ofers other "thrilling" rides, but not in the sense of speed, or drops, and sharp turns.

Many rides/attractions are so creative and thrilling in their own right. . I just marvel at them.

Examples are:
MK:
-Pirates of the Carribean
-Haunted Mansion
-Hall of Presidents
-Mickey's PhilharMagic (awesome 3-D show)
-Peter Pan's Flight
-Wishes
-SpectroMagic

EPCOT:
-Spaceship Earth
-Ellen's Energy Adventure
-Honey, I Shrunk the Audience (3-D)
-All of World Showcase
-IllumiNations

Studios:
-Indiana Jones Stunt Spectacular
-The Great Movie Ride
-Backlot Tour
-Muppet 3-D
-Fantasmic

Animal Kingdom:
-Kilamanjaro Safaris
-It's Tough to be a Bug (3-D0
-All the trails
-Flights of wonder
-Festival of the Lion King

The attractions and rides in WDW are more than that--they are really totally immersive experiences, and you easily froget the world outside this truly wonderful, incredible place. WDW puts me and many others in a totally different state of mind-- we just love that Disney Magic :).

Anyway :o. . .
Have a great time planning, and post whatever other qestions you have. So many DISers just love to help!

I hope the info I have given helps you.

See ya' 'round!

thanks erika - the ride info was great and looking up all the info it seems those are the rides to get on and of course i will do all the other things. so in your opinion what is the best time to go with low lines and not cold weather? I am looking at 70's type of weather.

Then I'd probably go in November of this year: It would be beautiful, cool weather, the Food & Wine Fest would be going on, and it would be value season=lowest WDW resort rack rates. The lines may be long any time you go, but they will be shorter this time of year ---Please get Fast Passes---they're FREE with your park tickets. Just place your tickets in the kiosk of the attraction you want to enjoy, and a Fast Pass will come out. Using a Fast pass ANY time of year is best because it almost guarantees that you will have a short wait. It gives you a time range to come back to that attraction, so instead of waiting in line for it, you can visit other attractions with shorter lines.

Hope this helps you a bit more ;)!

Thanks I am just at the beginning stage of planning so it was either the beach now or next month and WDW early 2005 - or WDW now - so I am still planning this whole thing. I hate planning - especially when you know little about the places.
