Planning to book Nov 5-15, 2017

Hi there -

We're planning to rent DVC points to try to stay at the Grand Floridian from Nov 5-15, 2017. Before I go ahead and put in my request, does anyone know of any conventions/marathons/holidays or other reasons why this wouldn't be a wise time to go?

That's generally the end of Food and Wine Festival which can be pretty busy as well as Jersey Week and Veteran's Day. I know there was a marathon the first weekend of November this year but I'm not sure what the dates will be for next year. But it's generally a fairly busy time anymore.

You would be best off trying to find a private owner. VGF at that time demands 11-month booking; even at 10 months, studios can be gone or have availability holes. VGF owners often rent privately vs. via brokers, as they can charge $16-18pp for 11-month fall bookings, versus only getting $13 from a broker.
