The time for the trip is coming closer and closer and I'm getting pretty excited! I've been checking out the rates for flights, accomodations and tickets and I'm starting to work out how much will need to be spent on other things like food, souvenirs and the like.

And when it comes to food costs I've actually been pleasantly surprised! I'd heard so much about how expensive food was in Disneyland but when I looked up menu costs it all looked exactly like the menu prices I'm accustomed to seeing everywhere here in Vancouver! So I guess that means either that food is really unbelievably cheap everywhere else or we're getting ripped off here in Vancouver! :rotfl2:

I'm getting to that kind of excited, wanting to overplan phase now, where I literally want to plan out every single day, down to the last french fry, for costs... even though I know I would never follow it! Anyone else feel compelled to do stuff like that? LOL I think it's just me wanting some way to feel involved in the trip well before I'm there.... I can't BE in Disneyland yet so I'll just eat, sleep and breathe it until then!

Who else is planning an upcoming trip and getting down to the nitty-gritty? I plan to book everything by the end of May!

I like to plan out every dollar but by about the third day, I totally blow it. So now, I add a good $20 a day to my budget so I don't feel so bad when I overspend. Have an excellent trip!

Sounds like a good idea! I'm good at making a budget, but not very good at keeping to it, so I think I should adopt this strategy too!

Guilty as charged. I have 21 days until Im there and today.... I actually printed out maps of both disneyland and CaAdv, found a red marker and mapped out what route im going to take to figure out what ride in order that im going to.. I think its normal to be that excited. My brother-in-law has been measuring his 2 kids EVERYDAY to see how tall they are for the past month! Everyone is really looking foreward to this vacation. BTW dont wait until the last minute to make your plans! If you want help booking something close to the park check out this website, every price you see will include the price of your stay and your disneyland tickets for everyone in your party.. www.getawaytoday.com

How fun and exciting for you. It is so fun to plan a trip to Disneyland. and more fun to plan what you want to eat :)

Happy planning!!

Yes this is exactly me now!

Last night I told my husband how I can't believe how time I have spent the last couple weeks reading, writing out tips, thinking (all the time) about this trip! All these HOURS for just 3 days!

And I was saying how I am trying to have a balance--a plan so we're not just wandering and going to places to stand in line forever, but at the same time, trying not to overplan where I feel like we can't change plans when we are there.

I plan as soon as I start booking! It is almost as fun as the vacation itself. I have my August Disney World trip planned already, it is a great way to pass time and I never lose interest.

I've been stalking these boards, various blogs and YouTube videos all day! My boyfriend has never been so he's not "aware" of the true magic... I think for him it still sounds like "just" an amusement park... I can't wait for him to find out how it's so much more! For me that's one of the biggest draws for me this trip - that and the fact that I'm 24 and this will be my first trip since I was 11! Long time coming!
