Planning our Wilderness Lodge Adventure! Nov 8-15 ~ We are back!

I realized after our "last Target run before Disney" I didn't buy two items we need for the trip. I pretty much expected it though. I always seem to need one more thing.

WOW, OK now I am getting REALLY jealous!! only 2 days to go

I got a kick out of your missing items comment! I obsessed for months over what I was bringing on my trip. I made lists, checked others lists from the Dis, talked with the boys about what we would need, began shopping weeks in advance, checked and rechecked my lists and began putting things aside. I looked forward to laundry a couple days before the trip so I could take clothes out of the dryer and put them straight into suitcases!

Guess when my DH decided to start? (I was in charge of mine and the kids, DH was on his own) About 2 days before we left. OK, maybe I was a little bit more commando than he was

I did finally relax and enjoy my vacation!

Hoping for a fun filled and relaxing 2 days!! Be glad you are not in the middle of the blizzard they keep talking about in the blackhills! Are they forecasting nasty weather in your part of MN? I am in Iowa and they are saying a couple inches along our northern border

I'll be thinking of you Sat. morning - I have to be up by 3:30am so we can leave by 4:30. Our flight leaves at 7am. Tonight's my last night of a really good night's sleep. But........I'm not complaining - we're going to Disneyworld!

3:30am? Ugh...but it's worth it!!!

I know...I was torn on the early flight. It meant we had to get up so early, but we would be at Disney earlier! Disney won-out over sleep. I think Disney wins out over most things.

Those are really cool pictures from Google Earth -- I can't believe you are only four days away from the Wilderness Lodge!!! Or is it three now? Woo hoo!

Today is THREE days from WL, TWO days from Pop!!!!!!!

Enjoy these next few days of pre-excitement. After all the waiting, it is really almost here. We're in the teens, so we're right behind you on the excitement train.

Yeah, I'm gonna say actually baking your own muffins at this stage of the game is getting very domestic. Usually, the last few days before our trips, I'm trying to get everything in order and keep it that way, making as few messes as possible. I'd be at the Sweet 'n Sassy Bakery picking up muffins, myself.

Yeaaaaa for the teens!!!!! The days really start flying then and before you know it you will be single-digit dancing.

I am with you on trying to keep things in order and not make messes....that is my goal as I slowly clean up the house. It's a total challenge with a baby! I wanted to make muffins because they are low-fat/low WeightWatchers points and sooooooo yummy. That way I can eat them over the next couple days while still on the plan. (And shhhh...don't tell, but they are almost as easy as opening a box, adding water and baking.)

You're so close!! I'm excited for you. And impressed you're making muffins.

And yay for working from home. Isn't that the best! SO much more productive.

LOL-"SO much more productive" for Disney planning! Just kidding-kinda. I work from home every Thursday because 1) I would miss my baby too much 2) Our babysitter isn't available on Thursdays. My job is usually so busy I am engrossed in it for much of the day. But when I need a "brain break" my lappy is right next to me with the DIS waiting...! I also listed to the DIS Podcasts, so it makes work so much more enjoyable!

Oh, doesn't that just figure? Men are so like that. Throw things in a suitcase 98 seconds before they leave the house, no planning! And do they ever forget anything?! Doesn't seem like it! Why is that?

It is supposed to snow here on Friday afternoon/night and all day Saturday (not sure if I've mentioned this-I'm in Minnesota). Hopefully that won't mean a delayed flight... I'm soooo happy to be leaving just when the ICK starts coming. That is NUTS about a blizzard though! It's only November!

Our flight leaves at 6:30 am, we don't get into MCO until 1:28 pm though due to a layover. I'm with ya on the last night of good sleep. I doubt I'll be able to sleep tomorrow night!

11-07-2008 - WE WILL BE IN DISNEY WORLD TOMORROW!

I love being able to say that.



All this planning is coming to it's fruition. Henry pulled the last Mickey head off this morning. The house is currently being cleaned by my wonderful DH while I finish out my last few hours of work. The suitcases are almost completely packed. The vacation budget is complete. We do have one Target run to make, and a trip to the bank, and I'm getting a pedicure woohoo: ) today.

I'll set the coffee pot to start brewin' around 3:30 am. We'll attempt to go to bed early and wake up rested, but we all know at least one person in this household will have a very hard time sleeping...

9 months of planning.
487 lists created.
3 birthdays.
1 anniversary.
4 seasons.
A trip to NYC.
New clothes and a new camera.
A camping getaway weekend.
My first DIS meet. (Hi thewesterberg!)
Sicknesses and teething.
A baby that grew into a toddler.
Over 70 pounds total lost.
60 Mickey head paint chips gleefully pulled off the countdown.
Money saved.
Lots of advice given, and appreciated!

A lot can happen in 9 months can't it?

Thank you for sticking through all this with me and listening to my ramblings. Thank you for your guidance, tips and advice. This Disney newbie doesn't feel like a newbie anymore after 9 solid months of DisResearch!

I truly hope I run into a few of you this coming week. I'll be watching for the lime.

And I have to say, this trip to beautiful sunny Orlando is coming at just the right moment. This state is wacky, it was 70 degrees this past week and we got 2 inches of snow last night and it's still snowing. All well, I'M GOING TO DISNEY WORLD!!!!!!!!!!!!

You'll have to tell me how you like WL. We are considering downgrading from the Poly to WL and adding a night (we'd end up saving about $200, and we'd be there an extra night, so it's a tough decision).
