Planning our Wilderness Lodge Adventure! Nov 8-15 ~ We are back!

We will be getting ready to head over to breakfast with the Princesses in Norway!

I have a question, are you going to be at Cammi's DIS meet at ESPN club on Sat. at 5:00?

Oh yes - I want to know the answer to this too!

It's our arrival day, Brook; can't remember what your plans are for that first day.

We still have three weeks. The fill in the blank thing was for all of you guys. I just know how much fun it is to look forward to things you'll be doing this time next week when you know it means you'll be doing something in Disney World!

Have fun with all of your meets! We actually are going to have several opportunities throughout Thanksgiving week to meet up with some Disers for a minute, so we're looking forward to those, and we'll hopefully be able to get some good pictures for the TR.

You're so good! I've told the girls I'm not doing a "full" food-shop this week. Our goal is to empty out the fridge before we go!

5 MORE DAYS!!!!!!!!

I hope we are able to empty out the fridge as well--I tried to plan things that I know we would eat, between dinner and lunch the next day. Friday will be a "leftovers only" day.

The only thing I hate about emptying the fridge is that you come back to nothing and you have to grocery shop.

One week from today we'll be milling around the WL getting ready for the day, eating breakfast at Roaring Fork and preparing to head over to DHS for rope drop! I'll have my running shoes on to get the FP for TSM!

Sleeping in at the BC, sending our luggage over to POR, maybe going into Epcot for the day. We will be there at Epcot on Sunday and I am sure it will be really busy. So we will probably do things at Epcot and then go check into POR.



I have a question, are you going to be at Cammi's DIS meet at ESPN club on Sat. at 5:00? I saw on the weather channel this morning, that it is suppose to rain on Saturday. I think I am going to invest in some sturdier rain poncho's and an umbrella, plus I need to make a new sock and underwear run. (just tell me, "thanks for sharing").

Our ADR for dinner that night is at 5:40 at DHS, I'm not sure the meet would work...maybe for a very quick "hello!"

Since I'm still pretty much a newbie with the World, if my memory serves me correctly-and without looking at a map, ESPN is at the BW, and the BW is near DHS, correct?

You said you are going to see the shuttle launch, right? My DH wants to sooooo badly. I don't know if I could handle the traffic/navigating since I'm the sole driver in our household. I really wish there was a shuttle or something I can send him on so he could still see it up close...

We are doing DHS all day (DH's favorite park-and he felt like we were rushed through it in 2006). Dinner ADR at 5:40 pm. I am not sure of the travel between DHS and ESPN, could I still make it? I'd love to meet ya!

Three weeks! They are flying by, aren't they? It feels like you were just saying "5 weeks until...". For me it's still a bit unreal most days. It'll probably hit me on Friday afternoon when I log off my work computer.

Someday I hope our paths cross on a trip, I'd love to meet you guys and little Brooklyn! And by then, the little pea too!

It will get you a view across the water way of the launch pad. Go to the Theme Park boards, and there is a sticky for Space Launches.

That is a veryyy long day, but DH is still very interested-thank you for the information!!! I know he's been watching a thread on here, not sure if it's the same one you mentioned or not, but he didn't see info about a shuttle bus. Maybe he just skimmed over it... Does the shuttle leave right from Disney? I'll have to check out that thread too.

Oh I am SO jealous!! We were a week late in June for a launch and couldn't work in the landing day. DH and I were going to take a day together at Kennedy but sickness swept through our group so he went alone. I sure hope to get there soon before they retire the shuttles in a couple years.

Brook - Yes, the BW is within walking distance from the DHS - about a 15 minute walk. And there is also boat transportation from DHS to the Epcot resorts. But with a 5:40 ADR, you might be cutting it close. Just know, that's where we'll be around 5ish, so if you find that you took a break from DHS and you're at the BW around that time, stop in. If not, I'll be on the lookout for you the rest of the week!

Yes he is! I was folding up all his little shirts today and DH saw the "I Mickey Head Mom" one and "awwwed" over it all over again. He had forgotten about it completely, so it was like brand new to him.

I really wish we could work it in better, at least for DH. While we can see it from Disney property, with his eye condition of being legally blind it will basically be a spec to him, nothing spectacular at all. I still have to check out the shuttle bus idea and see if that will work at all. I know it would be such a thrill for him too.

Yep, he did out grow the hat. We were so bummed, its sooooo cute. I was actually at the Disney store at the Mall of America fairly recently and looked to see if they had anything similar. I guess we'll just have find him something similar on our trip!

No, I still can't believe it! I still feel like it's weeks away and we are THREE days away. I don't think it will feel real until we are leaving our house in the middle of the night headed for the airport.

11-05-2008 - Three Days

Today my Google countdown gadget looks like this:

It's so hard to believe we only have three days! Only 1.5 work days left, and I'll be working from home for both of them!

The house still needs to be cleaned....but we have started packing! We have all of Henry and Joe's t-shirts and shorts packed, and most of mine. I realized after our "last Target run before Disney" I didn't buy two items we need for the trip. I pretty much expected it though. I always seem to need one more thing.

I need to do a bit more laundry.
Clean the house.
Charge the video camera battery.
Finish packing.
Get addresses copied down for postcards.
Make muffins. (For snacks between now and when we leave, and for breakfast when we leave at 3:30 am on Saturday morning, how very domestic, eh? )

Henry is really starting to get brave with his walking, a little more steady and a few more steps each day. He'll probably become a pro while on our trip!

Not much else going on around here, just wrapping up all these last minute details!

Enjoy these next few days of pre-excitement. After all the waiting, it is really almost here. We're in the teens, so we're right behind you on the excitement train.

Yeah, I'm gonna say actually baking your own muffins at this stage of the game is getting very domestic. Usually, the last few days before our trips, I'm trying to get everything in order and keep it that way, making as few messes as possible. I'd be at the Sweet 'n Sassy Bakery picking up muffins, myself.
