Hello and Happy Holidays I have been painfully neglecting this PTR in a big way Everything is going great, just super busy with the holidays, work, preparing for baby .... the list never ends I am hoping to update both my TRs today as both the Hubby and I have declared this a much deserved "lazy Sunday"
Hello to any of my readers that are still out there and any newcomers a big hello to you too
I know that I have been a bad, bad girl by abandoning this report for so long
Life has been going in "fast forward" for us lately and I just haven't had anytime to get on here and post a legitimate update. But have no fear, we have declared today a much needed "lazy Sunday" and I have lots to catch up on
First let's take a look back for a minute and see how our little guy is doing ...
Here's our little guy WAY back at 23 weeks ... holy cow, I can't believe that was 10 weeks ago!
This was two weeks later ... I love how he looks like he is playing peek-a-boo with us
This was taken at my Sister's wedding, when I was 26 weeks along
And this was taken at my baby shower in Kansas the following weekend, when I was 27 weeks along. That's my Dad and my Sister in the picture with me
As you can tell, Baby Candi is progressing quite nicely and growing like crazy!
Unfortunately, I don't have any other belly pictures as of recent and I won't have any ultrasounds unless there are complications. So, as much as I want to look in on my little guy, I am crossing my fingers that there isn't any requests for an ultrasound.
Of course, even with everything going on we have been doing some trip planning as well. I will be back later today to tell you all about that .... let's just say I will be getting my Disney fix sooner than expected
I can't believe it has literally been months since I last posted on here ... if any of you have left me I completely understand. However, I do have a great reason for abandoning the Dis ... I am beyond excited to introduce you to my son, Candido James
He was born on January 20 at 1:47 a.m. after 27 hours of intense labor. I won't go into the full fledged story, but my water broke on the 18th without me having any contractions. The contractions followed about 2 hours later and were immediately less than 2 minutes apart. We, of course, got all checked into the hospital, but for whatever reason I was dilating. After 24 hours (literally) I couldn't handle the pain anymore and got an epidural which was followed by petocin to try and avoid a c-section. Three pushes later and my Son entered the world weight 6 lbs 9 oz and measuring at 19 3/4 inches!
As I'm sure all parents can relate, I have about a bazillion pictures I would be proud to share but I will just give you the "highlights" of his weekly "birthdays."
Meeting Mommy and Daddy
One week old
One week old - couldn't resist!
Two weeks old
Three weeks old
One month
Five weeks old
Six weeks old
And I have to share these two photos from this morning. They are his first (non gassy and wide awake) smiles
I hope everyone is having a great 2011! I will be back later this week with some Disney updates
So .... at least one trimester, a baby and 7 weeks ago I left ya'll hanging iwth the promise of some Disney news Well, I am here today to finally deliver that news
Before James was even born I had been "joking" around with Candi that we should take him to Disneyland for his first birthday. At first, Candi would just laugh it off and I would let it go. Then one day, practically out of nowhere, Candi asked me if we had enough DVC points to do our big Disney World trip and go to Disneyland with the baby. I obviously didn't waste anytime doing the number crunching and I am so excited to say that we are tentatively scheduled to visit Walt's original park for our Son's first birthday!!! The reason I say tentatively is because we will somewhat "play it by ear" based on James development and how well he handles crowds etc.
Here are our plans so far:
We will be going for a long weekend - probably leave on Thursday and come back on Monday because this works the best with Candi's work schedule.
We will definitely be flying - probably Southwest since they offer the best deals out of our hometown.
And the part I'm most excited about we will be staying at Disney's Grand Californian hotel
If Candi's parents come with us then we will stay in a one bedroom villa
The one bedroom can sleep 5 people so this works out perfect for us and we avoid using extra DVC points for two studios.
However, if they do not tag along on this trip then we will use less points by staying in a studio villa
The only other thing we know right now for sure is we definitely want to eat here
We ate here on our last Disneyland trip and absolutely loved it! It has that "homey" feel to it that we love and the food was delicious! I'm guessing we might actually eat here twice - once for the character breakfast and once for dinner!
I am so, so, so excited and can't wait to start putting more definite plans into place!
The first birthday trip sounds amazing! And those suites are so beautiful. I've never been to DL, but if and when I do ever go there, I would definitely want to stay at the Grand Californian. It looks like a great resort!

You definitely have to visit Disneyland one of these days. It is different from WDW for sure, but it has this quaint charm to it that just makes you fall in love with the park!
This is more of a life update than a Disney update, but it is motivated by our Disneyland trip so that counts right
The biggest gift that life could give me, our Son, left me well ... big! So, I am right here, right now vowing to get back in shape and lose weight! That's why I want to post it on here, if I put it in writing than I have more people to hold me to it and I will be more dedicated to fulfilling my challenge to myself.
So here's the real deal (keep in mind that I am only 5 feet tall )
Before I got pregnant I weighed 125 pounds and was working on losing weight at that time.
The day I went into labor I weighed 158 pounds
Ok, I know you can't actually see me, but you can see how round my face had gotten. Whenever I gain weight I always gain it first in my face and ... well, a body part that isn't so bad for me to have extra "help" in
The day I left the hospital I weighed 142 pounds
Now, these pictures are actually quite embarrassing to post, but I figure I need to be honest with myself and the way I look.
So, the plan is to start the journey to weight loss/getting healthy this coming Monday. My Husband (who is on the same quest) is going to do it with me as well. We have decided we are going to do the Couch to 5k program. I have never been a runner so this will be overcoming this obstacle for me as well.
I am committing myself to weighing in every Monday and ONLY on Monday as well as taking a new picture to help me see the progress. My end goal is to weigh 115 pounds, which is what I weighed when we got married
I hope you guys don't mind me posting my progress on here and helping me stay motivated
First off for posting such honest pictures and numbers! You are much braver than me! I think the fact that you and Candi will be doing the diet/exercise together will be really helpful. I'm currently trying to lose weight too (well, I've "technically" been doing so for a like a while but since the wedding is only 3 months away I figured it was time to get serious) and I've been doing a plan of sorts with my grandparents (we are next door neighbors) and it has really made a world of difference. Good luck on your journey!
First of all congrats on baby James!!! I've followed two of your other trip reports and have missed your writing. Today I was looking at my saved threads and was able to find this one through your threads that I had followed. I am so glad to be subscribing to another of your reports and I'm looking forward to more posts!
Hey everyone, sorry I've been so MIA; however, I do have some news. This trip is being scrapped but, don't worry, it's only because we have decided on a Disney cruise instead!!!
I would love it if ya'll would join me on the planning adventure for that (the link is in my siggy ) and have no fear, there will be a trip to WDW sometime during that same vacation.
Mods - you can go ahead and shut this thread down, I will no longer be posting on it
