Here I am, not quite finished paying for our 8th vacation to Disneyland this coming November, and I'm already working on plans to surprise my husband with the Honeymoon that we've never had the time, or money, to go on so many years ago.
By the time we go on our 1st Honeymoon, our youngest will be 18 and our oldest will be 38, so I think it's well past time for Mom and Dad to have some Disney time by themselves.
DH will not like the 5 1/2 hour flight to Florida, but I think he'll love staying on property at WDW this time. We stayed off-property in 2005..our only other WDW vacation..and he hated the driving. "Never again" were his last words as we dropped our car rental off at MCO.
Now, the hard part. At what resort do we stay? I'm looking with real interest at the Swan & Dolphin because of their location and price...even though they look a bit more ritzy than what we're used to.
We're more the Wilderness Cabin types.
However...one of our best memories of our 2005 vacation is when we took the boat from Epcot to MGM. That whole lagoon area is just beautiful, and so close to those 2 parks. DH said that if we go back to WDW, that's the area where he wants to stay.
Of course...my dream would be to stay at the Poly, but at $329 a night...that's just a bit out of reach. And...with the money we save staying at the Swan & Dolphin, maybe I could pay for the Luau and at least visit the Poly.
Anyway...now my research begins. When to go is the next big decision. I would like to plan our vacation during a cool time (weather wise) in Florida. We live in the Seattle area and just can't take the heat and humidity. It was, what we considered to be hot, in November when we were there in 2005 so this time, I'm thinking maybe the 2nd week in December of 2008. I want to make sure that most of the attractions are open, but not too terribly crowded and not humid. How does my timing sound to those who live in the area?
