Planning Our Happily Ever After - A Disneymoon PTR! (NEW 7/13 - TR Link!)

Your outfits are amazing! :thumbsup2 I wish I could plan out my outfits in advance like that, but I never really know what I want to wear until that day. And I live in t shirts in Disney anyway, so it's not like it would matter! :rotfl:

Since Jen already asked...do you think that you could just fly to Methuen and coordinate BOTH of our outfits??? They so make me wish that I don't wear tshirts during the day (I tend to dress up a little more at night).

Can I ask about footwear???

Your cabana day at the Poly sounds so cool... when we were walking around there this past trip, I scoped out the cabanas and they are fantastic!

One week til the wedding!!! :woohoo::banana:

Seriously, I need you to be my outfit coordinator. Amazing clothes!!

I'm so excited for you!! :goodvibes

Thank you! A lot of planning went into these outfits, but I think it paid off. :thumbsup2

Thanks! I think the Disney t-shirts are normal. It seems that is the wardrobe of choice for most DISers! I have never liked the way I look in t-shirts, though. I pretty much only wear them to the gym, and maybe the grocery store. I always feel a little uncomfortable in them. :confused3 I think it's all about what makes you feel best! :goodvibes

Of course! A DIS-shoppingmeet sounds like fun!

Footwear, let's see...I'll mostly be wearing my beige Eccos that I got for Italy. They are the best walking shoe I have ever had and match all of my outfits. I am going to wear the black pair just one night because I need black shoes for walking and I don't do well in flip flops (we're going to DHS that night). I will also take my black Tevas, gold pool sandals, white pool flip flops and a super cute pair of white sandals. I meant to post them a while back, but I forgot so I'm going to include them in my final post. :cool1:

Your cabana day at the Poly sounds so cool... when we were walking around there this past trip, I scoped out the cabanas and they are fantastic!

When we were there in November we had to take a look at the cabanas, too. They did look really nice! I can't wait to spend the day there! Since I can't sit out in the sun too long, it will definitely be money well-spent. :thumbsup2

Courtney, I've been away from these boards for forever, it seems! I can't believe it's almost time for your wedding! :goodvibes I don't even know if it's possible for me to get caught up on all your plans before the big day.

I love all the outfits you've chosen for the trip, and might I add that you are looking amazing! :)

Looking forward to being here for the final countdown!!

I am so excited for you. I think you did a wonderful job including all the themes and elements of each Disney place your visiting with your outfitts. This is something I can not wait to do on our next trip. I can't believe it has been a whole year since you started your report and that your wedding is less than a week away. I will be thinking about you this week, hoping that everything goes just as planned and that you and Miguel have a wonderful time. :goodvibes

Hi Michelle! :goodvibes That is too strange - I was literally just thinking about you this weekend. It's been so long since you've been on the boards and I was wondering how you and your family were doing!

There is definitely a lot here - I've been updating like crazy lately trying to fit it all in. I completely understand if it's a little too overwhelming to get caught up!

I'm so glad you stopped by! I hope you'll be joining in for the TR when we return. I'd love to have you following along! :goodvibes

Thank you! I had a lot of fun coming up with the outfits. I'll definitely use that idea again. It helped me stay really organized, too, and not buy more than I needed. :thumbsup2

It is so hard to believe that this PTR has been going on for a year! Time has really flown! Thank you so much for all of the kind words and wishes! :goodvibes

WEDDING DETAILS - PART 10 (LAST ONE!)

Warning: HUGE update!

The time has come for my final wedding update! Of course, that's not to be confused with the final update - that will come on Thursday!

I think everything is finally done. We managed to get everything packed up this weekend, so all that's left to do is load everything in the cars on Friday. I say cars because it's definitely going to take more than one! There is quite a lot of stuff! And because of that, this update is pretty big!

I figured this last update would be a good time to share all of the little details that I hadn't gotten around to in previous updates. I also recently did a bit of DIY, so that is in here as well!

I'll start off with the welcome boxes. We decided to do the very popular welcome/out of town boxes for all of our guests staying at the hotel. We have 15 rooms reserved, so leaving out my parents rooms and grandparents room, we ended up needing 12 boxes. A while back I ordered some labels from Vista Print and some gold gable boxes. I used an ivory ribbon to make a band around the box. I think they turned out really cute!

I also got (from Vista Print) some postcards printed with a little note about how grateful we were that people went the "extra mile" to attend the wedding. Each box will have one of these cards inside.

Thankfully, Georgia is a great state for local goodies. We have a lot of foods that are typical to the area! Peaches, pecans, peanuts, Coca Cola - there was so much to work with! Luckily, there is a little store right up the street from my house that sells tons of different locally produced Georgia treats. We picked up quite a few things to go in the boxes!

Each box has two glass bottles of Coke, one pack of peach cookies, one pack of chocolate chip cookies (that has a peach label), two small bags of peanuts, one praline, one pecan divinety log and two peach candies. I think people will love them! I wish I had one! LOL.

We'll take these boxes down to the hotel where all the guests will be staying on Thursday night and the staff there will actually deliver them for us Friday and Saturday (depending on when people check in).

Moving on, one of the projects that I knew I wanted to do since the very beginning of my wedding planning was a flip flop basket. I thought it was such a cute idea to have an option for people to take off their high heels if they wanted to dance (comfortably)! Sometime about a year ago, I heard that Old Navy was having a sale on their flip flops for $1 a pair. Apparently they only do this once a year, and at a savings of $4 for two pair, I knew we had to take advantage. I had just started my job and my sweet grandparents didn't want me to have to wake up early on a Saturday, so they went and stood in line at Old Navy at 7:00 am and got tons of flip flops!

I got a large basket and spray painted it gold, then made a pink ribbon band and a sign that says "dancing shoes" and outlined it in rhinestones. I also wrapped the ribbon around the handle. It was just playing around when I did it, but I think it looks really cute!

I decided to do a rose petal toss for our exit and was originally going to be doing petal cones. But, I figured that that project might take a while, plus it would be hard to not smush the cones and fill them all up with rose petals the day of. So, it seemed that a basket would be better. I got another large one and spray painted it gold and put a bow on the front. I also wrapped the handle on this one, and made a cute little sign with a saying to sit next to it. We'll have a candle sitting there too and will ask the florist to sprinkle a few rose petals on the table.

Speaking of rose petals, I mentioned before that I want rose petals to line the aisle. We decided to go with fake, because real one's would have been super expensive. We found the white at the Dollar Store (1 pack of 300 petals is only $1!) and the pink at Hobby Lobby (a little more expensive, but $10 for a box, however they're always 50% off). Here's what I am hoping the aisle will look like. I measured it to be about 8 inches wide.

Probably the biggest project, though, was our favors. I knew that I wanted something unique that really represented the blending of our two cultures. I actually came up with this idea while driving one night and I thought it was to cute not to do. I knew it would be a huge undertaking, but I knew the payoff would be big. I think they will be a hit!

I decided to do individual 4 oz. jars of homemade jalapeno peach jelly. I had never made jelly before this, but after 100+ jars, I am now a jelly pro! Haha. I couldn't have done it without my grandmother, though. She made lots of batches on the jelly on nights when I couldn't because I was in school. She also stuffed and hand-tied the bows on each of the boxes that the jelly is packaged in. They look amazing and she did a great job!

There will be a box at each person's seat. Here is the mockup of what I am expecting the place setting to look like. The real napkin will be champagne, though.

We're also bringing the peaches into the bar for our signature drink. Again, I wanted it to be a cute blend, so we're having Georgia Peach Margaritas as our signature drink. I wanted to let people know so I whipped up a cute little sign.

And here's the beverage napkins we'll have. It's a little hard to tell, but they are embossed with our initials (CNM).

Moving inside to the reception, my fellow June 18 bride Emma (disneybarbie) posted awhile back on her PJ about diamond confetti and I just had to borrow the idea! I went with pink and clear in various sizes and will have them scattered around the centerpieces at each table. I of course had to measure - 1/4 cup for each table!

I also made all of the table numbers. I found some inexpensive frames from Marshall's and TJMaxx in various different designs (all the same color, though) and then just printed the numbers. Pretty simple and they look really nice!

Sadly, the beautiful card box that I ordered in April hasn't come. The lady that runs the Etsy shop has apparently hurt her back and is behind on orders. I haven't got the definite word, but I'm guessing it isn't coming. We found a simpler card box at Micheal's and dressed it up a bit. I think it turned out ok, though!

My grandmother also wrapped a fake present to sit on the gift table to let people know, and to serve as a little bit of decor.

I don't have a picture of this, but we decided to add a Gobo light for the dance floor. It will have our names and will be displayed on the dance floor all night. Really excited about that one!

Ok, I think that's all the actual wedding stuff. Here's just a few more things:
My robe for getting ready on Saturday morning (this isn't mine, but you get the idea)

And today all of our bridal party gifts arrived! My family has been so amazing throughout this process, both emotionally and financially and I really wanted to do something nice for them to let them know how much Miguel and I appreciate them.

Ok, I think that's it! Wow - that turned out to be so much more than I thought. If you made it all the way though - :worship:. Thank you for letting me use my PTR for wedding planning posts! It's been so much fun sharing all of the planning with you all. Thank you so much for all of the sweet comments!

Up next is my final two updates! Only 5 more days until the wedding and 6 until our honeymoon!!! It's really happening!

Holly cow, your wedding updates keep getting better and better! I know I've said it before, but this is one wedding I would love to see in person!

Anyway, great work on all the DIY stuff, and on getting things done well ahead of the wedding. No running around putting a bathroom basket together an hour before you hair appointment for you (that was me- infinitely less organized than you seem to be!)

I hope you have a relaxing last-few-days-before-the-wedding!

Lots of great stuff. I especially like the flip flop basket. I would for sure use these as dancing shoes!

Courtney everything looks perfect! I love your theme - it's so elegant & will match your venue perfectly :goodvibes

The welcome bags are fantastic - I'd only heard of those at Disney weddings, they're not common over here, but I'm sort of wishing I'd done them for our guests staying at our hotel venue (this Saturday!) .. I really like your table crystals too :cutie:

4 days to go... 4 days!!

Emma princess: x

Courtney, you gave me GOOSEBUMPS!!!! (Not easy to do in this heat either)! Your wedding is going to be spectacular and I can't WAIT to see the photos and read all about it! What an amazing family you have, so supportive!!! Looking at those Georgia treats I once again wished I was going to be an out of town guest at the wedding! My hope and prayer for you is that time slows down so that you can savor every moment of this spectacular wedding and that the wedding will pale in comparison to the spectacular life you and Miguel will share. :goodvibes:goodvibes:flower3::flower3::goodvibes :goodvibes

Where to Start? Everything is wonderful. The napkins, the place settings, the baskets, which are too cute!!! I would have never even thought of an idea like that, but have to say it is a great one as I know my feet are hurting so bad by the time I get to the reception that I do not want to do anything but sit! I love all the wonderful gifts you got for your friends and family for all their help. I have enjoyed so much going through planning your wedding with you and am kinda sad it is over :guilty: but I know that even though the wedding planning is over with, I still have an awesome Trip report/Honeymoon adventure to look forward to. :cool1::goodvibes
I am so happy for you and Miguel and feel like I have come to know both of you as friends.
Whoo Hoo I am so excited for you!!!!!!!

Thank you Joyce! :goodvibes I get stressed out so easily and when I do I get in a really bad mood, so I knew that I had to get things done ahead of time or I would end up not enjoying myself. :sad2:

Lots of great stuff. I especially like the flip flop basket. I would for sure use these as dancing shoes!

Thanks! I am hoping the people will actually use them! :)

Thank you for the idea for the crystals! I think they are really going to add something to the tables. :thumbsup2

The welcome boxes were a lot of fun to make. I think they're mostly for destination weddings, but I think they are fun for the out of town guests, too. :goodvibes
